Anyone help tell me what stereo I have?

Hello everyone. I've been trolling the boards all weekend and haven't had any luck with answers. I used to own an '04 GT RX8 w/ the bose system and sold it in '05. Just picked up an '05 last week and I'm trying to get my bearings.

The stereo in my '05 doesn't seem to add up. The tweeter sail panels read "Bose" but the CD player doesn't indicate that it's the in-dash 6 disc changer {do all bose systems have the changer?}. No logos {seems like a remember a 6 disc logo on my '04}, and no action when the load button is pressed. The doors appear to have the Bose 8" speakers in the doors. The rear deck appears to only have 6X8's or something alike {no tweeters in the rears which I though was indicative of Bose}. The previous owner appeared to have {what I would assume} the bose amp replaced w/ a cheap Clarion amp as it was spliced, ect to run line level inputs.

Nevertheless, it sounds horrible and I'm trying to figure out what I have.

Anyone know {in detail} base stereo vs bose stereo HU differences?

Not all of them come with a 6 disc CD changer. I have the Touring package, which came with the Bose system but it's a single disc in dash player.

Thanks guys. That definitely helps. What about not having tweeters in the rear? Not all bose have this either?

With the stereo powered on (any mode- FM, CD, etc.), press the menu button a few times and cycle through the options. If you have the AudioPilot option, I believe the text reads AudioPLT: ON/OFF, and only Bass and Treble controls, it was the Bose system. If you do not have the AudioPilot option and have Bass, Treble, AND Midrange settings, the system is non-Bose.

Also, look for the center speaker cover in the middle dash piece below the windshield.

He has the Bose logo'd panels, so obviously a Bose system. As cited, they came thru with various CD options (none, single, 6). I have the 6-CD in my '05 Shinka, which is essentially a GT. I also have a SAT button as it came with a Sirius receiver.

My 05 came with Bose speakers (no tweeter on the 6x8's in rear) and a single disc CD player in the dash.
