Blocking People

Is there any way to have someone blocked so that they won't be able to see your page, posts, comments, or send you messages? I think it would be beneficial to avoid conflict for some, and avoid unwanted contact and attention from others. If there is anyway to make this function possible, or if it's already available, I would really appreciate knowing how to do it. Thank you!

Are you being harrased again?
There is a way to ignore people. I believe it is in the User Control Panels. It may just pertain to posts and not the comments section or PM's.
At one time I had it set up for one certain member. But, that was about 3 yrs ago.

go here: https://www.rx8club.com/profile.php?do=ignorelist

found in the FAQ:
Dealing with Troublesome Users

Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?

If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:

Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, type their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'.

If you don't want people to be able to see/comment/ridicule your postings then don't post.
That is the only way to do it.

Why do people believe they have the right to say what they please without having to weather the storm of scorn that follows?

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Think before you speak
If you can't take it then don't serve it

Plus--- Any one can be a PC tough guy which is lame in my book. Don't let those finger get you in trouble

Personal info should be able to be blocked form the public if the user chooses. But everything else should be free game. let the Mods do their job to referee the BS

i completely agree, but that's not what this suggestion is about.

i'm requesting that there be a blocking option to avoid having people keep tabs on you and to keep your information private. the ignore option would work well if it could work both ways - to ignore a user's posts and page, and also block them from viewing yours.

PC, while I think this would work well for your specific situation, I do not think this would be advisable for the forum as a whole.

No one should be able to arbitrarily block ME from seeing THEIR posts.
If I choose not to read them, that's one thing and if you choose not to read my posts, that's another but being able to block anyone is just not an effective way to manage a forum.

So you're asking for a way to stop certain people from reading things you post on the internet due to privacy concerns..? Lol. Hilarious. That's like people wailing about privacy on Facebook, if you don't want people to read it, don't put it up on the net. Common sense.
