Front jack point...clarification
Ok, so for all RWD cars I've owned, the front crossmember is the location to jack the front end.
It's also on pg 29 general info on the FSM.
What is the guy in this thread talking about?

He is saying, Its ok to do it if you doing an alignment afterwards.
I did it myself couple of times, my alignment is still ok. but I dont do it anymore cuz its a bitch to reach the front cross member.

That's hard to believe as well. It if required a new wheel alignment afterwards, it would say so in the service manual.
In my other RWD cars (s2k, miata, m3) I never had an alignment change after jacking from the front cross-member.

You need a very low profile jack to reach the front crossmember point, or drive up on some sections of 2x6. You shouldn't adversely affect your alignment.

but in ur attachments, those seems like the revised undertrays that improves drag a bitr on the newer models... it seems like it can also fit the S1 models to me, but i can be wrong.

FYI original poster here...
I use a costco aluminum jack, easily gets to the center crossmember no problem. And the jack pad is about 5" diameter.
Maybe jacking from the crossmember with one of those puny Craftsman mini "2 ton" jacks?
