Also, from my bi-weekly visits to the Dealership, I ended up speaking to the parts guy. In our discussion, he had mentioned that a customer purchased his 8 from Morningside Mazda and his Motor popped shortly after. I didn't get a follow up on this scenario, but I'd like to know the aftermat, should you want to disclose It.

 

I should also say that the owner had It for less than 10k. Anyway, I'd like to see the outcome of this.

 

I purchased my RX8 from morningside. However my engined has never blow. I currently have almost 11k on the car. I did have the gas cap sensor replaced. The CEL light came on once. They said it was due to the gas cap not on tight enough. They cleared the system and one week later it happened again. So they just replaced the sensor. The problem never occured again.

 

Okay. I know that the guy ended up doing an entire Engine rebuild/replacement.

I'll add more as I learn.

Samyv, can you tell what kind of rate are they charging over there at Morningside Mazda for regular maintenance ? Thanks !

 

To be honest I'm not sure. I bought my 8 as a pre order and have never had to pay as all scheduled maintenance is free for 3 years or 36000k. They did have an oil change add posted in the store for 24.99 including a wash.

 

It's been awhile from my last visit here...

I have to pick up a bunch of gaskets on Tuesday and I'll bring up the matter again.
