What to put in 4080?
After a long craving.
Finally I just got a 4080 sub box.
Still, I have no idea what to put into it.
Basically, I need 10" sup + amp suggestion for one 4080.
I prefer around $300+- & DIY.
The local shop would like me to spend $500+ for their setup.
Their items list are long and complicate.....
I don't think I will need all that.
Need your guys 2nd opinion.
Now I have Kenwood KSC-SW10 150w. power sub in my trunk
It was OK since I normally don't turn the volume up high.
But it could not go very deep without any distortion.
So I finally upgraded to 4080.
Hope my new setup with 4080 could do better.
My listening style is moderate to low in volume.
Songs are Hip-hop, Trance, Dance and Classical music.
My current setup are
- After market Head unit + Metra Kit (pre-amp available)
- Front: HERTZ Energy 2-way 5x7 component
- Rear: HERTZ Dieci 3-way 6x9
- no amp (yet)
Thanks,
Tony

i like just a lil bit of bump myself rather than crazy bass. I personally love Boston Acoustics products, nice and clean and accurate sound. i have a G1 sub by them which is like there smallest output sub and its enuf for me. They have a G2 G3 G4 and G5 which G5 is there better one. I think the G1 is around 200 watts while the G2 jumps to around 600watts. not sure about the rest...but the G1 was only about 100 bucks.
for an amp i guess anything that matches up with the power of ur sub...again im all boston acoustics but their amps are pricey

The type-r is a good choice. I'm using the Kicker CompVR line and I'm pretty happy with it. When using only one subwoofer, make sure you get either the dual 4 ohm voice coil or single 2 ohm voice coil model. (Which ever the manufacturer you decide on makes)
Here's your amp:

300WRMS to the subwoofer and double the power you have now to all your other speakers.
