Talking BCRX8 Winter Weather Proofing Workshop [Dec 14 3pm to 9pm]

Weather Proof Workshop: December 14th 3pm to 9pm

[Free for Members]
This workshop has been promoted into our main calender, by our club president. This particular workshop is now a primary event. Collin has also generously offered his (comfortable dry temperature) underground parking and (free) water supply. He also booked us the building's entertainment suite for our post car cleaning feast (2 hours of pizza). The exact address will be provided directly, to the folks who have signed up!

Weather Proofing Workshop: Rain products, for the winter months. Since we can expect heavy rain, grime and even winter salts to take a toll on our car's finish. This workshop deals with the fundamentals of keeping the RX8 safe from ugly road conditions. We use several rain-x products, as well as "Rain-Gel" for maximum windshield water beading effect. The wax we use is a Rain-X wax. Afterwords we lightly dust the car with a mist of RainX on all the areas behind the wheel wells. If you haven't been out to a workshop, come on out to witness the water beading changes seen on someone's car, and you can decide for yourself.

Your car will love you this winter! (And you'll love the way grime just rinses free with a simple garden hose)
BCRX8 members can also sign up here

Snow today - tomorrow = ICE.

Folks... I think we should cancel this workshop. It doesn't look very safe out there, based on the numbers from forecast.
Am I the only one who is surrounded by hills... and a river?

I don't like driving on ice.
Ice sucks. it's going to be -4 by the time we leave Collin's comfortable under ground parking.
I must be the only one at the bottom of new Westminster, and surrounded by hills.

ARGH I hate New Westminster.

OKOK let's see how the temperature and conditions turn out tomorrow... I do want this workshop to happen, honestly.

I don't mind it.

But I don't like driving in the snow the day after a huge Christmas party, with 275s on a RWD standard car with only 3 years of driving experience

Alright well.... today wasn't bad... hopefully tomorrow is good for driving too.

Please be warned though! If I smell ice (Well I can't but that's besides the point) I'm going to want to cancel. So just be sure to look outside, if you see ice.... let me know!!

Ok, I'm going to call all those on this list. Starting with Collin, to see if the area around his place is safe to drive.
Honestly, it doesn't look too bad. I'm leaning away from canceling the workshop, it's probably safe to hold this workshop.

The point of the workshop is more than just cleaning and shining the car. We can do that anytime. The workshop is meant to put three products specifically on the cars: NuFinish, Rain-X wax, and Megguires Ultimate Detailer (Which adds even more Water beading effect.

Extra products:
Rain-X anti-freeze for the windshield wiper fluids.
Snow scrapers as "door gifts" to attendees (It's nice to have - and they're probably sold out now)
