Too much oil?
Too much oil?
I bought a used 8 recently, and it looks like the oil was recently changed. I read in the owners manual that oil should not be added past the full line on the dipstick or engine damage could result.
When checking the oil for the first time I noticed that the oil was all the way up past the full line. Should I be concerned about this?

Remember, your car still well under warranty no worries mate.
Well, the oil looks like honey and according to the sticker on the windshield it was just changed. I won't be changing it myself, because I don't have a ramp. I'm a skinny guy, but not *that* skinny.
Skinny? Hell, go buy a 30 dollar jack *at most* and change it yourself. It won't hurt, costs almost nothing, and you stop worrying about "oh no! What can happen!" At least, that's what I'd do.
Just drain some oil out from the drain plug. Use a jack , you dont NEED ramps. Im skinny too , how is this relevant lol. If you're unsure or dont know **** about cars you can look at the DIY section of the forum it will help new guys out. But i would be worried about overfilled oil , it can cause aeration and will not lubricate components properly. Oh and make sure to buy a crush washer for the drain plug
