My first RX-8
My first RX-8
Well here is my new 8.
Its a 2004 GT with 34000 miles. I got it from Oak Lawn Mazda in IL.
i traded my s2000 in for this marvel.

Its been about a week of ownership now, and i love it.
Here is the old S

and my old turbo ep3 before that

In my opinion, the s2000 had a much higher "fun" factor. Top down ripping the engine to just over 9k was exhilarating. and the s did feel a bit nimbler then the 8, but it was smaller and lighter.
But on every other level, i love the 8. its MUCH more comfortable, much more livable, it sounds amazing, its smooth and doesnt sound like your putting someones hand in a blender at high revs, and quite a looker.
i have yet to get fully comfortable/used to the car, but its has only been a week, so im sure it will just get better.
the one problem i have to overcome is not feeling bad about beating on it. I could beat the living **** out of the S, and never feel guilty as if i did harm, it just soaked it up and begged for more. Im still in the "new" car stage where I only allow myself to give it some stick once in a while. and i know rotaries pretty well from a pen and paper stand point( i have done reports and speeches on them) but never from a first hand perspective, so the years and years of non-believes shunning the engine has effected me at least a little.

I felt the same way about hammering it at first, but as long as it's warmed up fully you can flog her as hard as you want and it demands more still. Have fun, keep the revs high.
It is going to stay stock for the better part of this next year while im away at school. I do want to get an exhaust, because the noise is intoxicating.
and i can find a few pictures of my old s and post them
