Wrecked my 8

I wrecked my 8 on Friday night. Went through a utility pole and hit a tree dead center. This was all due to my own stupidity and carelessness. I deserve what I got, I just thank God for watching over me because it could have been allot worse. Thinking about leaving my 6 month old fatherless and wife husbandless really gets me pissed at myself. I am posting this to ensure that no one makes the same mistake I did. Nothing in life is worth losing your life over unless it's in the process of protecting another life. I came out with a broken wrist and lacerated eye, other then that I'm fine. I want to say that Mazda built a hell of a vehicle, not only is it a blast to drive but it will protect you when you need it to. It's been fun, even though I'm getting 5K more then I owe for the car from the adjuster, the wife as restricted me to a sedan. Thank you all for a great time and I will be back in a few years.

Pics to come tonight

Sux to hear about your car... but good to know that you're still around to tell about it...

was anything in the car salvageable? looks like you had some pretty good mods... i'd like to know.

What mistake did you make exactly?

Very sorry to hear it dude... there are plenty of sedans out there that will be a blast to drive. Get your hands on a MS6 -=) Good luck!

DUI I may be going in the route of 335i, that is if the wife lets me. If not I'll be OK with an Audi A4 or A6

Sorry to hear about this, please don't drink and drive again! If you do part the car out, I might be interested in the burnout sides and rear and the MS exhaust. Good luck with the sedan, hope your insurance isn't too high now

Again, glad to hear you are ok and good luck moving forward.

On another note the Audi's with the Bang & Olufsen sound systems are sick. They drive very heavy though. The Bimmer will probably feel more nimble but that is just going off of reviews, never driven one.

I deff. learned my lesson, the ironic thing is that I never drive after a night of drinking. On this night it happens that I had a ride home but this guy who i just met that night decided to get trashed. As he starts to drive me home i noticed he was weaving all over the place. I told him to pull over and we can cab it, he refused so I told him tp drop me off. Where he dropped me off was just 2 blocks from where i left my car, so in my briliance i decide to drive home. To make things even worse, I was already 4 blocks from home but I must have decided to take a detour down this road to have a little fun. I use this road alot to test my brakes, suspension and other mods. So that night I couldn't have been any dumber, I'm just glad no one was with me or on the road. I couldn't live with myself if I would have hurt someone else. I can honestly say I will never drive again even with just a few beers in me. I'ts not worth it.

Mann..that sucks. Live and learn...Sorry for your loss. But atleast you're ok.....that's all that matters. Things can be replaced. And you'll get to drive a new car. haha!

Get A4 Quat or Acura TL/TL type-s. THey are so much fun to drive. hehe

On the side note...

If you decide to part out or whatever, I want AFE short shifter and MS strut and sway bars.. :D I'm collecting used MS parts...for my cousin' project 06 RX8.

shiit son, that is really unfortunate. Glad to hear that youre okay and everything. Less your wife forgot, the 8 IS a sedan (insurance wise) so a suitable replacement is the '09 8!

I've survived so many accidents I've lost count. Driving on the edge is one of the best adrenaline rush you can get. I love to launch my car every chance I get. Reach up to 90mph turns if I can. Race every car I could challenge my way.

I consider moments like that to be genuine but then it's taken away from you so easy.

The hardest part of my life is spending more time with people you admire the most like friends and family as many times as you can. It's just never enough.

So Devildog I'm glad you got a second chance at life!!!
