My friend has a eclipse and bought some of those bulbs that are suppose to look like HIDs and they are actually pretty blue. On the 8 tho there is a housing around the bulb does it affect how it emmits the light at all or is it just for show, do you guys know any sites that sell blue bulbs for 8's ppl say ebay but he bought his from ebay and one of them went out like a month after he bought em

 

check your local autozone or advanced auto parts for rice parts. they probably carry them there

 

There are all kinds of sites on the interwebs for buying bulbs of any color in any size. Unfortunately, you never said anything about WHAT lights you intend to replace. So I cannot give you any advice at all.

in all honesty.. the assembly is a bitch to take a part and glue properly back together if not careful. if you are going to go through all that trouble, wait a bit and look into demon eyes that will be coming up on a groupbuy shortly.. search demon [or angel] eyes on this board and you will find the thread(s)

On everything but the base models, HID headlights come standard (correct me if I'm wrong). Replacing the ballasts would not only be rice, It'd throw less light, it'd be less focused, and you wouldn't see as far because of the spectrum shift. Also, Those ballasts are pretty damn expensive.

Leave them alone.

That can be done. I believe there is a sticky on interior lighting options in the interior and electronics section. Do some google searching with the Site:www.rx8club.com modifier and you should be able to find the threads detailing where to get bulbs and what works and what doesn't.

Have you considered shazbot's puddle lights? they're pretty cool.

just do the HID conversion kit i have had those blue bulbs in old cars and they blow out like every couple months...just do the conversion
