Why I hate humanity (keyed)

Any suggestions on how I can get rid of this gash? This is a '07 RX-8, FWIW. Some ****** keyed it last night.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and excuse the really dirty doors. I had a nice hiking outing on Friday and had to drive on unpaved roads for a little bit. :D

If the paint in broken, touch will only change a white gash to a silver gash. Suggestion, take it to the dealer you bought it from and talk to the salesperson. Dealerships usually have a mobile paint guy who does their lot damage cars. This guy would charge less that a full body shop. I'm assuming you have a $500 deductible on your insurance, so no point in talking to them.

Thanks for the tip. I'm almost due for a 3000 mile service (yay for having a car with less than 3000 miles on it keyed) so I guess I'll ask them then!

Ouch....that hurts to just look at......Agreed, try the dealer first. If they don't have a mobile guy, definitely take it to whom they recommend. Usually its the absolute best shop in the area. I didn't listen when my car was hit and learned the hard way..

i got my 8 keyed twice before....I was too sad to take pictures of it but they got the roof, and most of the sides keyed, oh and they slashed my tires. Luckily for me I have an amazing insurance policy so I only had to pay a $50 deductible....though I do feel your pain. Sorry that had to happen. People are just jealous because they cant have such an amazing ride.

My suggestion is also to go to the dealer and talk to them only if you have a large deductible. Sorry again.

Wow, my car got keyed in almost the same exact spot!

Also our door handles stick out and it seems like the favorite thing for people to hit when they park too close and open their doors.

Luckily (or unluckily) my car was keyed the day after I waxed it. And I waxed the hell out of it. So I just waxed it again and you can't really notice the scratches unless you are really close to the car.

Keyed victim here as well bro, i feel for you.

Only way to get rid of it is to paint the door again. I checked around and all the body shops told me the same thing.

When I was living in SoCal some buddies and I went to see a movie on Harbor in Costa Mesa. When we came out some kids were on bikes by my buddy's car and took off as soon as we got close. When we got to the car we saw key marks on both doors and colorful (misspelled) curse words on the hood.

We took off after them and caught up with them on Adams right between Costa Mesa and HB. My buddy jumped out of his car before it was even stopped and tackled the lead kid. They all stopped and we got out of the car.

The kids started crying saying it wasn't them and we'd better leave or they'd go home and call the cops. My buddy told them all to get off their bikes, which they did. He then proceeded to throw all 4 bikes over the edge of the bridge we were on and into the Santa Ana River.

This was during one of the El Nino years so the water was almost to the very top. I don't think I ever laughed so hard in my life. After the first bike went over they all turned on each other screaming "he did it, no he did it, etc". My buddy just calmly went from one bike to the next throwing them over.

When we got back in the car I was worried my friend was going to get into trouble. It was then that he let us know he had been called up in the Marines and would be leaving town the next week. His car went to his father's shop, was repaired and sat there for over a year before it ever saw the light of day again.

To this day I can't drive from HB to CM without smiling.
