correct drilled rotor direction??

i've been looking around the forum as well as other pics online, but i have found that half must have their rotors installed backwards!! i see them installed with holes trending forward and backward. which is the correct orientation? should the left rotor be on the driver's side?

My Racing Brake rotors came with instructions and they had directional arrows on them like tires. If your's doesn't I would contact the manufacturer. Brakes is something you want to install correctly.

Mine came just the way Expo1 says.
I believe if you serach around enough on the Racing Brake website, you can find the answer.

www.racingbrake.com

Since I'm laid up, I'll take a look and see if I can find it. I still have the instructions upstairs, but I ain't crawling up there today just yet.

Your lucky day! Look what I found!

http://forums.racingbrake.com/showthread.php?t=74

Also................take a look at the below!

For high performance applications the slots and vanes (if curved) should always angle to the rear. The curved vanes must sweep rearwards to evacuate heat from the rotor, likewise the slots must angle rearward to evacuate brake pad dust.

alright i did find this

http://forums.racingbrake.com/showthread.php?t=74

i saw this discussed in another thread, but i see all kinds of examples to the contrary. search under google, and every other picture the rotor is facing the opposite direction. even on other bbk sites, they have them facing different ways. i confused...

Best to contact the manufacturer, but typically the rotors rotate with the holes tending forward, as seen in the linked (note directional arrow on hub): http://www.racingbrake.com/RX8_SPORT...1-241-1441.htm

I questioned this as well awhile ago and found that it depends on the brand of the rotor. It's the internal veins that you want in the correct direction.

That is a very correct statement!
My examples and a few others were based on the Racing Brake rotors........keep that in mind!

Very true. I have EBC rotors and they are also directional but the grooves face the other way.
