Talking A possible WIDEBODY KIT from APR

Well I thought about R magic being the only widebody available for the 8 so I thought maybe other big companies known for their widebody kits could possibly produce one for us and for much cheaper, so I decided to send an email to APR, the company that made the Evil R widebody for the Evo that was featured in Toyko Drift. I actually got a reply saying they are forwarding my email to their R and D dept. I think we could make this happen if we have enough people emailing them to about a widebody RX8. So LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Let's show them we are interested.

Here's the link: http://www.aprperformance.com/index...._id=1&Itemid=3

For those who haven't seen any of APR's widebody kits:

Pretty sweet. I love widebooty's... err.. I mean.. bodies...

But yeah. that would be awesome.

I might get flamed for this.. but I don't care... but I'm not real keen on the front fenders of the 8, how it rounds off. I would like to see a wide body kit, that makes the fender straight... kinda like the S2k's... and have the fender spaced out where it meets the door.. kinda like JGTC style(I think)... but thats just my PERSONAL OPINION...

Why keep emailing a Company to make a wide body kit? Nobody emailed R Magic to make a wide body kit, they just made one and then people decided if they were interested. I'd rather see some kind of sketches of a concept before emailing them about it. A Company as to make an effort to design something to gain interests of people, not the other way around.

The more bodykit options, the better for the rx8 owners. R-Magic looks great (except the rear) but I would like to see a bigger variety on widebodies. Go APR!

screw bodykits, i think we got enough, i want to see more cooling options, upper pillowball mounts, replacement control arms, brake ducts, undertray diffusers, fuel pumps, u know what i mean

the more people mod their 8s the more options we will have, and more body kits will come later,

n plus it doesnt really help that our cars are extremely hard to make bodykits for

I understand what you're saying but doesn't R Magic specialize in Rx7 and 8s, or in short Rotary powered cars? Saying that, you would kinda expect them to make some sort of a bodykit. I think alot of companies don't know what car needs what. They just look at the car with the most demand and thats what they focus on making a kit for. A company does need to make an effort to interest people, but we also have to tell them we are interested, companies can take advantage of that. I doubt people would want to wait for the whole world to buy rx8s in order for us to get more kits. Now don't get me wrong I absolutely love the R Magic widebody and I know alot of people do too, but I also know what keeps people from buying it is the price. APR's products are decently priced and people could afford it.

ok maybe not extremely, but harder than most, we have problem areas like the area around the side markers, and how our stock bodies by the side skirts curve under etc

I think, it would be great to see another wide body kit. For example, Buddy Club 2 posted on their site that they're coming out with a body kit soon, but that was like 3-4 years ago and still nothing. (http://www.buddyclub2.com/bodykits.htm) They had a lot of interested people, but they still haven't designed or shown any concepts of the kit. As far as R Magic goes, they don't specialize in only aerodynamics like APR does. They mostly do tuning, and that's what the company started as. But, they mainly made a wide body kit because there was no other wide body kit on the market for the RX-8, and they knew it would bring the Company more interests by doing so. But, either way it would be great to see another wide body kit in the market, especially with a lower cost budget.

we might have a lot of body kits as it is, but most of them are HIDEOUS!! i'd love to see another wide body - they give such a cool, mean stance to the car.

op, i e-mailed them and got the same response...

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your suggestion to APR PERFORMANCE.
I will forward this to R&D Department.

Best regards,
Peter

I'm interested in a widebody mainly to be different, and to tuck some massive rear tire. But it's a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyz down the road for me.
