Problems with MS Cai

I got my performance package installed on my car Tuesday. Since the install the car has been running poorly in the 4500 - 5500 rpm range. No power, sort of surging. It only happens when I'm maintaining speed, or accelerating slowly in that range, if I floor it, it will run up to red line no problem. If I drive with the rpm below 4500 no problems either. Thursday morning I had a cel flash as I pulled out of the driveway on my way to work. It went out after a couple seconds.

I've done both ECM resets, no help there. I've checked for leaks and it all looks fine.

It is an 06 GT Manual

Any ideas?

I'll check the Maf tomorrow. If it is dirty what type of cleaner should I use?
The car only has 4000 Km on it so I can't see it being the cat, but thanks.

Electric safe cleaner.

or MAF cleaner

You can find those at ur local auto parts store for maybe 4 bucks a can, should be enough for like at 30 times of cleaning.

It is and I've got an appointment with the dealer tuesday, but there isn't one in town so I have to catch a ferry to the city, and waste one of my days off over there. Since this seems to be a fairly common mod I figured some one may have had the same issue and found a fix.

Well today I was able to track down a copy of the installation instructions. I went over the instructions and install and found that 2 of the vacuum line were on the wrong nipples on the intake. I switched those and went for a drive, no more problem.

ah sooooooo .

would not have thought that would make a difference - unless the lines are from totally different areas of the intake the vacuum should be the same .....

The nipples the lines connect to are all in the same area, but at different heights and different angles. On the Factory intake each nipple is color coded to match the corresponding vacuum line. On the MS intake they are all the some color, polished aluminum, so you need to look at the factory one to see where each line goes on the MS intake.
