Another Fuel Management Option for Boosted 8's?

http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory...CategoryID=116

I saw this finally came out and it looks like this might be another option instead of an Int-X or EMU. Plus it's not that expensive. The only challenge is integrating into the harness.

I didn't see where it was specifically listed for the RX-8. Did I just miss it? It's not expensive, and from a quick glance it looks like it functions like an Emanage.

It hasn't been validated for the RX-8 but it sounds like its supposed to be universal. Like a VAFC but much better. The only kits that will be car specific means they have an adapter harness shipped with it.

I know Mazdamaniac had the universal standalone EMS from AEM and couldn't inegrate to the harness or something to that extent. I'm not possitive this would splice in right.

One thing is for sure, the price is right.

I still think I would rather go with something tested and fully supported for our cars (int x).

Nice find BTW.

It doesn't control as many injector channels as the e-manage.
It only has 3 ignition channels, so you can't split up the leading and trailing ignition.
It only retards timing, not advance it like you can on the e-manage.
It does not have any auxiliary channels for controlling open/closed loop devices.
It does not (currently) support the RX-8 ESS signal/timing. (This is also the problem with the real AEM universal stand-alone).
At only $30 less than the EMU, it isn't really a bargain, even if it did work.
Plus, you must handle your own wiring.
For another $165, you can get an RX-8 specific wiring harness, an O2 sensor dongle and a pressure sensor all in a kit along with the EMU.

I'm almost never up that way, but I'm always willing to take the trip! Anything interesting going on with you?
PM me your number if you get a chance.

Has Dave done anything else with his '8?
Play with the "magic juice" yet? It would probably work nice in this weather.

That is $165 more than the price of a EMU by itself. (For the RX-8 turbo upgrade kit).
