Does anyone know at what speed the afr comes out of closed loop with the recall flash?

its not speed dependent but rev/% throttle (could be load based but not sure )

Doubt they have changed this with the new flash .

Normally
anything above 4000 rpm or 30% throttle will be in open loop but this does vary a little with each gear.

i was under the impression that it went out of closed loop @3750 when the secondaries came online. although i dont really see why, its an NA, and the ecu is fast! the FC's and FD's did the same thing, but they have slow computers, and the fd boosts quickly

it will also now come out of closed loop on extended cruises on the highway. it switches to an open loop cat prtection enrichment scheme. trigger by cat temp i believe.

Cool How would you tell?

How would you know when it's in/out?

Would you need an EGT/AFR meter, or is there another way to tell?

yes,

it is cat temp related... it seems most of the time it is 76mph. depending on outside temp...

the drop is not that much.. when it goes into cat saving mode the afr drops to about 14.4 to 14.5.

The CAT preservation scheme can drop the AFR all the way down to 11:1 on some people's cars, though typical is 13.2:1.
Happens when the RPMs stay over 4050 or so for 20 seconds at cruise.

Yup, this is undoubtably what my car does... Is there a fix for this yet? Changing out the cat or spoofing the temp output from the O2 sensor? Something? I can do 19 mpg at 75-80 mph, and 19 mpg at 90+ on the same stretch of road. In the latter case, as least I'm getting home faster...
