i remember that episode, and it reminded why i disliked that show so much.
why do they have to create drama in a drag racing show? sheesh... tv has turned into the complete suck.

And while im on my soapbox. How come NHRA never airs the import series? Sheesh, i would watch that all day. I hate tv.

Oh and why doesnt anyone air WRC or F1??? Come on people... its cable. You have like 1000 channels available. its already filmed, just air it!!!!

not to say anything bad bout rotarys... but i think that FC driver cheated/sandbagged it in the first race...although, he prob would have won anyways as you can see the FC was alot faster then that civic..... just my $0.02

I believe I saw some sand bagging there from the FC driver... but maybe the show producers told him to do so... to make it interesting

 

I like the concept of the show but dislike how they come up with the pairings. There is so much dissimilarity between the two that one can sandbag to get the other to give up their equalizer and then kill them on the last run. They need to run comparable cars so both players know what the other should be capable of and it makes it more difficult to sandbag and it's more about who's can get more out of a similar platform/setup. That or set up dyno runs on the same dyno by a 3rd party just before the race so there is no doubt on the capabilities.

Sandbagging and dirty tricks have really taken over the contest rather than who can build the baddest 1/4 mile car.

EG: rotary on rotary, full size truck on full size truck, FWD ricer on FWD ricer, pony car wars etc.

F1 is usually aired on the speed channel and replayed again in the late evening.

 

Don't hate on the Civic just because this is a rotary forum. A DOHC Turo Civic would have killed that heat soaked RX7. My CRX would detroy that RX7. And it would do it for ten runs. Another run or two and that RX7 would have broke. That Civic could do that all day long. Both cars have their strong points. Oh, and no way was that RX7 running 10psi.

I'm not hating on the Civic. I was talking about the civic team. I can't speak for anyone else that posted here though.

If this is the case you have to do tricks like snading and other *****, which is just dumb imo.

Whatever, No RX7 with 10 psi is putting down that much HP. Period. I have raced plenty of RX7's and I know a lot of guys running more boost than that and they could not hang with my 93' Civic Coupe running only 18 psi on a DOHC B16A.

I love FC's but that car was runing 25 psi at least.

 

I agree that it wasn't running 10PSI... But 25psi? .. or even 20PSI... wow.

You have much to learn.

 

The only honda's that deserve any credibility are the NSX and S2000. Civics were cool in high school for some reason, but have lost popularity since the WRX STI have come out. I apologize if this insults you, but the truth does hurt. The only good honda is the one my grandma drives.

 

^ Civic's have lots of potential. They can run 13's all day N/A and still be a reliable gas saving daily driver. They handle well too. What more do you want? Light, agile, fast, reliable, fuel efficient, daily drivable, tons of aftermarket parts....

We had a dyno a month or two ago in Houston and there was an FD running 26psi putting down almost 600HP. That RX7 in the video said 500HP at 26psi. The Civic was in deed putting down all 470HP at 30psi I can Guarantee it. So what exactly do I need to learn? So you are trying to say that RX7 was running lower boost than normal and still beat a 470HP Civic? man you are dillusional.
