I admit RWD is great but a FWD EG hatch with a B18C5 will walk an RX8 on any track.

 

Heh. depends on the driver really. you'd be suprised by what the 8 can keep up with on the track (not a drag strip).

this thread is booty...really, who gives 2 sh*ts about a civic. Even if its putting out 1000hp, its a f'n civic...how about we talk about neons or tiburons or something, then this thread would really be cool...

 

Oh, now we are talking about drivers. Figures. I love every type of car. I could give a **** less about a Civic really but I just hate when people see a car they don't prefer and call it a piece of **** just because they hate the fact that it's faster than theirs. The point that I'm trying to make is that a fast car is a fast car. I just hate when owners of certain cars (tons of Honda owners in this crowd I know) make excuses rather than just giving credit where credit is due.

Was that civic owned by the same people who run www.Full-Race.com ? If so those are some stand up guys who make awesome parts. The work they do on the headers and intake manifolds for the S-2000 and civics are pieces of art. I bet anyone who has ever seen one of their parts wish they made parts for the rotary crowd.

 

There's an RX8 in the video??? Where? Anywayz, all this bash talking isn't necessary. No matter what car you drive, there is always going to be a car faster than yours PERIOD.

You are a hypocrite. I see no credit to the RX-7 that won the race. He did win the race. Winning is truly winning, plain and simple. Also, you weren't doing the driving, it wasn't your car so don't say you could beat it until you would actually race it. That's like me saying I could take my car to a track and do circles around porsche 911s. I can say that all I want, but until I actually get on to the track, I'm just talking.

 

I'm not trying to be an a**, but I've learned a lot with reading between the lines. I'm not offended by you saying that the civic could walk up and down it or whatever, I don't care, because it was a race.

 

I give credit to that RX7, it's a sweet car. My point is that there is no way it was running 10psi of boost. That's my point.

I didn't watch the whole video, where was it stated it was at 10psi?

Also, was this rotary with a port, and if so a street, bridge or peripheral? That right there can create 500hp with not that much boost.

AZMC was entered in the car show at the track when they were filming that episode. We watched it live. Let me say after I seeing it live I don't even watch the show anymore. The host is even worse in person. I did get to see myself on PINKS when they did a close up of the crowd. LOL

Ive never seen that show except for the clip I just watched. Whats wrong with it and why dont you watch it anymore? Is it staged or something?

 

Its made for TV. The host is arragant. I agree with a lot of the other reasons posted above. Having watched it only on TV I'd probably still watch it because its chopped into a 30 minute show. But it was an all day filming for 2 episodes and we left before they finihsed the show with the mini van VS an old camero.

Just kind of got turned off with it in person.

 

After watching this clip, I'm glad I didn't waste my time going out there to watch.

I though pinks was always straight up. none of this I'll give you x amount of car lengths crap.

 

RedCivic you name the track and the time then we will see if a EG FWD civic can dust an RX-8.
Until that time comes, I think you should be a bit more humble.
