Professional Canzoomer Tuning

Due to lack of adequate resources for tuning the canzoomer by myself, I decided to take the car to R&D dyno at gardena to tune this thing. will the tuning be worth $300?

and another newbie question....will the factory ecu eventually detune the canzoomer as time goes on?

i used to have a 01 honda prelude and the OBDII ecu is a biatcha and eventually detuned all the mod that i put on there

The Canzoomer was pretty limited on what it could do and did have a way of undoing the tuning. there definitely aren't many people who still use it. Since it is more or less an emanage, it can be rewired to work better but mazdamaniac would be the person to talk to about that.

don't reset your OEM ecu before tuning and only tune above 5700 rpms and >70% throttle and you will be fine... break those 2 rules and the thing isn't going to do too much good

obey the rules and it works like a champ... although i think $300 to tune it is a bit pricey

for $300 you could get the RB flash and it will never 'detune'
then sell the canzoomer and get something else

that is, assuming you are in the US

my mods are as follows: RB intake+duct, borla exhaust, RP race cat, AP pulley and CZ.
before the tuning, the car put down 184 to the wheel. so 16 whp from CZ alone. the car is dynoed on a dynojet.

the installation of the AP pulley cost me $40 and the guy finished it in 1 hour (15 minutes was spent waiting for the car to cool off). i still cant believe rotary racing wanted $250!

the pulley was worth its price, good gains in lower and upper rpm but its nothing compare to the tuned CZ!
