Arrow December Drive - Artery Clogging Food and Frosty Mugs of Root Beer

After the disappointing experience at A&W in Poulsbo, I think we deserve to finish off the December run with a real, honest to goodness, car lovers drive-in. A place that is unapologetically unhealthy. That serves Root Bear in Frosted mugs that come in two sizes (regular and Super Sport). The restaurant should have more car memorabilia than the walls can hold. It should give its food car related names like Piston (onion) Rings, 49 Woody, Chevelle, El Camino, and Cadillac.

Our final destination will be the XXX Drive-In in Issaquah. To make this fun, we'll be starting in Puyallup and scrambling over winding back-roads with the occasional Hwy stint where the back-roads have been overwhelmed. I'll post the exact route in a day or two (maybe later tonight).

However, we do need to chose a date. Sunday 10 December or the 17th. I know we're all busy shopping, partying, and traveling, but don't our cars still deserve one day to go out and play?

The 10th of December will be better for me. I may even be able to bring the wifey along. Hopefully everyone picks the 10th for next month's drive. hehe

Sundays are always better for me since I tend to have gigs on Saturday nights; especially during the holiday season.

edit: DUH. I hate hitting that 'post' buttom too quickly. I can do either the 10th or 17th - both are great for me!

The 17th works better for me. On the 10th I've got the holiday party for my scuba club to go to at the Aquarium by 6pm -- it would be a little weird to go for a drive all dressed up !

This sounds like a popular idea with everyone, hopefully everyone will show up this time.

While I hear where you're coming from, after processing it rationally, my brain immediately morphed that statement into a dare, and I'm half tempted to find a tux for the next drive. Very british-super-spy, wouldn't you say?

Although I am not willing to rend a tux, mostly because it is 1/26 of a supercharger and every 1/26th makes it that much sooner. That being said, if you come in a tux or suit, I would be willing to match that effort with a suit on the drive. Does your tie have to match your car?

ROFLMAO

Oh yeah, definitely... your tie has to match your car

Can you imagine what we'd look like rolling into the XXX Drive-In?
Although, now that I think about it, in Issaquah it probably wouldn't look all that strange...

I dunno guys... it sounds kind of uncomfortable to me
Plus, imagine having to deal with a car break-down!!

Good dare Kristopher

Dec. 10 sounds good to me, the 17th is my Mom's B-day. All I can say for now Linda is that I'll try to make it out for the whole time at least for this one. I have a feeling that this one is going to be a good turnout and I hope at least it won't rain too hard.

Either of those Sundays should be fine. I'll ask Jen if she wants to go too.

You know, my service writer said "the only ones having trouble are the ones that aren't being driven right." Make sure you rev the hell out of your new engine every chance you get.

Sorry to hear your having that trouble.

Did you tell them you're having fuel starvation issues? Maybe you can get a new fuel pump installed...

I've already had the pump replaced! lol

I'll try to work it so they install an engine from a MS3 instead! :D

Kristopher - Yup...I think you're onto something! hehe...I wont like having my engine miles and odometer not match, but (shrug) what's a brotha gonna do, ya know?

If I had the $, I'd try to get an LS2-swap, I suppose.

I've a company Christmas party on the 9th, so I wont be making the Toy Run. Proxi was running on the OEM tires for the November run. If you need to get heat into the tires, I guess that just means you have to work them harder.

Yup, I'm still using the OEM Bridgestone Potenza tires. They're not that bad yet, but I try not to be that much aggressive on them especially during rain and on wet roads.
