Top Mount Turbo setup

Category: Engine - Power Adders
Price: $3100
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): FL
Item Condition: Used

Up for sale is my custom Top mount Turbo kit.

Firstly let’s get some things out of the way. This was built for functionality not looks. If you want boost for half the money of any other 300+rwhp kit, this is your chance. If you have a show car, this is not your turbo kit. My welds are not pretty, but they got the job done. In a year of daily driving everything proved to be structurally sound and fully functional. There are a LOT of couplers used in the engine bay. It could be made pretty by having some aluminum piping welded up, but that will be up to you.

Also, this kit does NOT bolt up to stock exhaust. I will include a downturn with the V-band clamp already welded on, which will allow you to run open downpipe. You could easily have any muffler shop weld an adapter to go between the downpipe and your midpipe though. For a little more money (to cover shipping) I can include a custom FULL 3” stainless exhaust system that bolts right up. It uses a Borla XR-1 Muffler, one resonator and ends in 3” Magnaflow tips. It is loud and very aggressive sounding.

What this kit needs. You will need an oil drain line kit as I left mine installed on the car. They are $30 off ebay(its what I used). Also you will need to use your stock MAF tube. This is done by cutting the tube off 1” behind the airbox. This is easily reversible in the future by re-attaching it with a coupler(I did it). Or you could use an aftermarket intake maf tube. Everything else(and more) is included.

With all that being said, this kit simply does its job. My car made just over 300rwhp at <11psi while running VERY rich and with very conservative timing. The turbo will easily do 16psi(and its fun!) which gives you a lot of room to raise the power. With a professional tune 350rwhp will be easy. Most agree the turbo is good for much more, but I will not make any promises beyond 350hp.

Ok, here’s what’s included:
T04E 60-1 water cooled Turbo (Bought from BNR)
Synapse Synchronic 50mm adjustable Wastegate
HKS SSQV Blow off Valve
Pair of 900CC injectors(uncapped yellows by BG)
Manifold/downpipe
Intercooler and all cold side piping
Oil filter sandwich plate and oil feed line
Oil catch can

Very very tempting, I miss riding so much! But my back cant take more than 10 minutes of riding anymore. I actually built this kit with the money I got from selling my 954RR

because talk is cheap, that's why. ZOMG posts are a lot easier to do than plunking down the green/plastic.

Back on topic, was the OMP in place for this kit or did it have to be plugged in off to the side?

Yep, Tons and tons of questions and offers. And a bunch of "I'll buy it next week/month" but no takers yet I feel my price is pretty fair considering the types of kits it will go head to head with.

Omp was in stock location. It does have to be removed to get the manifold down through, but then you put it right back on once its in place. When everything is bolted up there is a decent gap between the two. With the manifold and downpipe wrapped I never had an issue with heat.
I spent ALOT of time planning and building that area of the manifold and downpipe to get as much clearance as possible for all the hot stuff.

The more I think about the hours I put into it the more I feel like I should make jigs from this setup before I sell it. Would be awkward without an Rx8 to test fit things though.
