I am 13.5 months into a 24-month RX-8 lease and have set sights on another toy so if anybody is interested in taking over a lease that gives you the option to return the car in 10 months or purchase it at the end of the lease for $18K, here are the details:

Lease waiver:
The lease is for 21,000 miles with excess use waiver covering an additional 12,500 miles
This means the car can be driven up to 27,000 miles in the remaining ten months with no additional charges
The excess wear and use waiver also allows for up to $2500 in damage at the end of the lease

So, there you go.

I think this is a good deal if you are looking for a hassle-free way to acquire a one year-old RX-8 with very low miles.

In October 2008 you will have a choice: if you like the car, buy it for $18K, if you don't, turn it in at any Mazda dealership and you'll be done.
