So, just got back from the track event. Everything went great and the car felt nice and stable pretty much everywhere. I ended up running the dampers at 12 clicks up front and 8 clicks out back. The first try with the other damper settings created a bit of oversteer.

I'm super tired though, just got back from a 3 hour drive. More info coming tomorrow and I'll post up some action shots later. Also have some things to sort out... on the way to the track I was rear ended at a stoplight about halfway there, and I also spun at the end of the straight in a 100mph sweeper so needless to say the interior looks like a dust storm blew through it and I need to see how serious the damage to the rear of the car is from the collision.

Also shot you a PM about the springs.

Yeah. I got hit pretty hard but you can't even tell there's any damage from more than 5 feet away besides my bent license plate. I think it's because when I got hit, I was still rolling forward with the clutch pedal down and foot off the brake, so I was completely in neutral. I'm glad I had like 5 car lengths between the car in front of me, I was getting tired of slipping the clutch in first so I was just creeping along in traffic. I thought for sure my rear bumper/exhaust was toast but when I got out to look at it I didn't even see anything until I inspected much closer.

Also the 3 foot tall cone that I hit sliding sideways at about 60MPH left a huge imprint on the drivers door that I thought for sure was permanent but a friend happened to have some scratch remover and it buffed right out.

Ouch, like MMeglen said, getting hit on the way to the track would not be fun, even if it were minor!

Anyone else need the OEM strut bar fix? These are shipping soon, just want to get as many out at once as possible. Even if you already have everything installed, don't hesitate to PM me for it!

Also, if there are any locals that need help with the installation of their Powertrix coils, I'm here to help.

Posted up a picture from the track day in the Calling All Powertrix thread.

Overall, they performed fantastic at the track. Really made the car a completely different animal and it just felt rock stable and nice and neutral just about everywhere on the track. I only had the one spin but that was my fault, definitely nothing to do with the car setup. I have an autocross event coming up next weekend which is usually much more violent in terms of weight transfer on the car and will be a great test. I'm expecting to do MUCH better in my class with these, I'm hoping to get top 3.

Also Tilt, let me know what Powertrix thinks as far as the vinyls go, I sent a PM about it.

Arca - Running the vinyl isn't really a big deal. I just need to see what is available in stock and get back to you.

I will have a rather exciting update later today about the rear extenders! Stay tuned!

In other news, Powertrix Coilovers successfully installed with the OEM strut bar. Congrats DLum! All future coilover purchases will be 100% compatible with the factory strut bar with no modification required. This update will be sent out to those who have already purchased at request, PM me for details!

If anyone wishes to have this fix mailed to them, it is in stock and ready to ship shortly. Please PM me your full shipping information and I will get them sent over with comprehensive instructions! I will also be posting the instructions online, it is a simple 5 minute process
There is the strut bar fix.

Hah, mine are going on Saturday/Sunday. Gonna need information on what I'll need to do with the strut bar. Plans as of now are just to trim it. I'll be getting a mazdaspeed bar over the winter so I'm not too worried.

The extenders are currently expected to arrive this coming week. In some PM's I did give an exact ETA but because this is an express mail service from the factory there may be some delays. Feel free to PM me if anyone would like any further information.

To give everyone a little more insight, I'll let you all know what happened. The issue was that the particular wire material that is used for the extenders was on backorder at the production facility. Basically, the factory has been waiting for this material to arrive back in stock to allow production to resume. Once these physically arrive stateside, they will be distributed immediately to customers and I will be posting an update in this thread.

Again, for anyone looking for the OEM strut bar fix with the first batch of Powertrix coilovers, please PM me. All future coilovers that ship will clear the OEM strut bar without problem.

I just took one of those cone drillbits to it and cut two little finger holes so I can adjust them without the extenders.
