#1
SOLD - 2011 RX-8 - New engine w/ Warranty, R3 wheels
Year: 2011
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $12000
Mileage: 96000
Color: Sparkling Black Mica
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): CA
Up for sale is a clean 2011 S2 RX-8, one of the last few ever sold on the West Coast, with brand new reman engine. Engine has <4000 miles, with ~8 months/~8k miles dealer warranty left (miles will increase as this is my DD). New clutch/flywheel/OMP injectors replaced while installing new engine, and new coilovers were installed 5000 miles ago. Chassis aside, this is almost a new car . I am the second owner, and the vehicle has only ever been adult enthusiast owned. Have all records since day one and a several page excel sheet with detailed maintenance logs. Vehicle is clean title, no accidents, no smoking/pets.
Mods are low-key, tastefully done. Went more for OEM+ than rice. Upgrades/maintenance/details include:
Grand Touring Package - heated leather interior, 9-point Bose Centerpoint sound, auto climate, touch screen nav, sunroof
TEIN Flex Z coilovers ~5k miles ago
Hard-to-find 19" BBS forged R3 wheels shod with 225/40ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sports (70% tread left)
AFE short shifter + black pearl TWM M1 Abrams
AutoEXE steering wheel (full cruise/radio functionality + airbag)
Racing Beat AC and oil cooler screens
Stainless steel brake and clutch lines w/ speedbleeder on clutch
Fumoto valve
Grounding kit
BHR performance ignition coils
MSD ignition wires ~8k miles ago
New NGK spark plugs ~1.5k miles ago (have some extras which will throw in)
Fresh battery ~3k miles ago
Fresh catalytic converter ~4k miles ago
Transmission/differential - Redline MT90 & 75W90
Brake Fluid - Motul600
Coolant - Mazda FL22
VLeds Triton V3 on parking lights
LED interior lights + footwell glow + 3rd brake light
Lowered power seat/seat pan
35% tint
Have always changed oil religiously, always with Mazda OE oil filters. On this new engine, I performed a post-break-in oil change at ~1200 miles (and put in new plugs then as well just because clean slate, ya know). Have always premixed either Idemitsu or Motul 710 2t. FWIW, the previous engine developed a leaky coolant seal, but the compression was still near perfect, even at 92k miles, so you know how much care I put towards our engines. Large Mazda dealership in my area called it the best maintained RX-8 they'd ever seen. Nonetheless, the chassis has 90k+ miles and has a few blemishes:
Cracked passenger side fog light cover from pebble
Rear driver taillight sometimes fogs up in high humidity
Small ding on driver side door (hard to see)
Light wear on driver seat
May decide to trade/part out the R3 wheels separately at the right price. Car has a gutted race pipe. If in CA, I can smog or you can smog. If you smog, you keep the race pipe. This is NOT an RX-8 with blown/blowing engine! Asking $13000 OBO - if you're serious, let's talk. I would LOVE for this car to go to another RX8club member (that would make it 3 in a row). May also consider trades for a well-maintained 4Runner/Sequoia/GX470/overland-capable rig.
Thanks for looking!

Hi bluetii, thanks for the message. As I do need to sell the car with wheels, I'd only part with them as a set. Ideally the buyer would also have a set to toss in for me to roll on too.

Just a PSA everyone. High degree of certainty Josh Harvester above is a scammer. Tried getting my bank account/credit card details. Mods not sure if you guys want to look into this.
Vehicle is still for sale.

If you live in White Rock.... and you have questions about importing a vehicle from the US... go to Peace Arch and talk to someone at the border.
I am surprised your grammar is that poor given you live in an above average area with better than average schools 😏

just google this question. I can tell you will not have day time running lights. Which is required for Canada. There are also plenty of Canadian Rx8’s in the market. If you’re not a scammer and really do want one. My advice be patient, the Canadian market will open up in a few months.

Well technically zero post count/history, the last time he was on the site exactly matches the last post time here in this thread, his profile has zero info other than listing CA as the country of residence which I’m not sure how you google and verify it’s him regardless, but I played along and the only hit I came up with is some guy reverse named Harvester Josh who builds harvesters in Iowa and wants to vote a communist in for POTUS due to advanced DTS, and why would he be asking for his CC info? He also spoke directly to the owner in his “I’m not a scammer” reply, then thanked and asked the owner as a different 3rd party in the same reply to get back in touch with him. wth bump

chefferoni, where are you located? If you're near the SoCal region head to the SCAR meetup 2/29
https://www.facebook.com/events/829815607488031/
OfficerFarva, if chefferoni we can look it over for you and give you an overall opinion. Shipping a car is easy, being in NC isn't an issue. I'm shipping a GT from Texas right now as we speak. Had a friend who knows rotaries give it a one over, bought it and shipped it. Whole process takes a few days to iron out. Cars take 3-4 days to get from coast to coast.

Thanks Farva! As speed suggested, I'm open to shipping as well.

Awesome! Hope to see you there! The SCAR meetups are low key and a decent amount of people show up.

Yea I've shipped cars from all over before...my crazy 240 rb26 swap project a few years back came from Oklahoma. Shipped it to NC, and then long story short, shipped it to Texas to Dynosaur performance for an engine build....then back again haha. It just adds to my cost, so I'd have to consider that on top of the price of the car itself.

I was able to see this car in person tonight. I have to say the pictures don't do it justice. It is a very nice car, sounded perfect as he pulled into the parking lot. I didn't think I was going to be a fan of the red lights in the foot well area, to me the car didn't look cheap in anyway. The short shifter he has installed feels amazing. I suggested he get some additional pictures of the car to show off the paint. A S2 black Rx8 is really hard to capture in a photo. The mica flakes Mazda used really makes the blacks look amazing.
Overall I'd give this car a solid 10/10 interior and exterior for cleanliness. Whoever does pick this up pretty much has a new rx8.
Side note the seller is no bs'er. Very knowledgeable about his car and a nice person overall. Anyone who makes a reasonable offer and really wants a nice GT shouldn't let this one slip by.
