New Products from Shine Auto Project!!!
Hi Everyone,
*Just want to start out this post by saying Ken at Shine is really a great guy. If anyone here is interested in any of their parts, be sure to email or call Shine, speak with Ken, and let him know you saw my post - he'll definitely take care of you!
He's got an awesome FD also
*
Earlier this year I spoke with Shine Auto Project and ended up ordering some special parts
With one of the West coast's biggest show coming up, I thought it was time to refresh some of my exterior. I called up Ken from Shine Auto, inquiring about some new side skirts for my car. He talked me into trying out a new rear bumper concept, and I can not thank him enough for convincing me, it looks fantastic. But first, the sides:
Because I am running the FEED front, I thought some FEED sides would really tie things together before Wekfest SF this year. When Ken @ Shine offered to try a carbon accent on them, I was game! I picked up the sides, but one thing led to another and I ended up running my old Ings+1 side skirts. I still think these would look great and if I were keeping the FEED front, would already have these on my car!
For those interested, I believe retail on these sides with carbon accent is $500
(Please excuse the dust! - Also, those lines you see on the carbon are reflections.)

Now, onto the rear bumper! While I wasn't originally looking for a rear, Ken described the idea of a carbon accented Kenstyle rear and I just had to give it a try. No fiberglass fitting was required, just about plug and play for this rear bumper. I literally dry test fitted, dropped the bumper off for paint, picked it up, and installed it at home. Quality is honestly great, on par with what I would expect from an authentic piece. Quad tip exhaust should be complete in the near future, which will make this rear look even better!
For those interested, I believe retail with the carbon diffuser accent is $750 for this piece

If anyone has any ideas for new parts from Shine, feel free to post up in this thread!
This thread has a pretty comprehensive list of what they currently offer, though it is not all listed on their website at the moment.
Lastly, if anyone in SoCal wants these sides, shoot me a PM and we can work out a price. As mentioned, I'm going a different route with the car, so will no longer be needing these

2. R Magic Rear
3. Autoexe flat hood design but w/CF vents.
4. RE Amemiya LED side mirrors

What do you guys think if they made a R-magic kit I like the front maybe a non-wide body ver. (or wide body) just trying to get some thoughts out there maybe some of the other guys can come up with something.

Shinka - It's very close, but not touching. My exhaust fitment is slightly off :/
I kindly ask we keep the replica Vs. authentic debate outside of this thread. Feel free to create a new thread if you feel strongly one way or the other.
A quick note on the subject - For the record, I don't think there's anything wrong with creating a custom piece that is not available from a manufacturer (i.e. carbon accented KS rear) or something that is no longer in production. Furthermore, as replica parts sit in a different price range, I don't think they actually steal any sales from OEM's but rather make a product accessible to a portion of the market that would otherwise not purchase aero at all. Opinions will differ but as it stands, companies such as Shine offer high quality aero at an affordable price; I back shine because I'd rather see RX8 owners go this route for replica aero rather than the Extreme Dimensions stuff.
Hah, I sort of contradicted myself in keeping the debate out of this thread, sorry about that!

tiltmode43, possible to post profile shot?
Cuz' i have the exotic speed catback and the tips are tilting down, I tried a aftermarket rear bumper before and it wouldn't fit the catback. However, OEM fits and designs like MS rear diffuser would.

Shinka - I'm not 100% certain if it would clear - should be pretty easy for an exhaust shop to touch up though!
Tilt, do me a favor, can you find out if shine can still make the ings rear. If I can recall, they made them at one point. This is something that would be purchased in near future if they can do it
I did a while ago, he said he was working on a odula lip.
Id like:
MS front + Rear + Wing
R magic
Knightsports
Fix the Feed front so its plug and play
^^^all of those things, FREE and shipped to my house. Kthanks.

One aspect of the Feed sides I really dislike is that there is no bottom. They just hang straight down. Makes them seem cheap
I forget if Feed offered a bottom piece separately. Shine does not so maybe I was just dreaming? Feed does offer their sides with CF so it is not a custom option by Shine.
As for the MS kit probably not very likely Shine will do it. Ken has mentioned they do not want to do kits other stateside companies are doing.

I know what you mean about the bottom, but I don't recall how far the legit FEED's went. Yeah, they do make the CF trim version which is probably where Shine got the idea; I was referring to the KS being unique.
Yeah, quite a few companies already do MS, so don't think that will happen.
Chris - Shoot them a quick email and I'm sure they'll be able to help you out
Thanks for the posts guys!

Sorry if I am beating this subject but these companies such as Vertex and other Jap brand products are still around and being sold into the US. I personally do think that this will steal some of their business since people will rather generally spend money on something cheaper. Its almost the concept of buying legit wheels or going into replicas.
I personally know people with legit parts and you just gotta be willing to pay to play.
I also went through Shine's product since I got it a great price through a member. Fitment was not on point at all. Maybe they did yours perfectly since you are near them and they make "one of" pieces for you.
But I will just end my statement about Shine making other companies body kit. This subject on the RX7club is talked about a lot also.
