Thumbs down BAD GIRL: Sti Chick

i bought a greddy sp2 exhaust from Sti Chick 4 weeks ago. everything went fine, she was in contact all the time and showed pics and everything.

heres when things go wrong

FIRST WEEK
-when calling her it turns out that her phone has been disconnected [still responds to pms]

SECOND WEEK
-apparently sent to a non existent address WHICH WAS 2 DIGITS OFF BUT I GAVE HER MY ADDRESS 3 TIMES PLUS MY ADDRESS IS ON PAYPAL ALSO.
-promised to ship it out again with 2 day shipping via FexEx
-a day later says that she will ship it out the next day because she cant get money out of her bank account because she just opened it.
-she promises to keep contact 24/7 through pms
-the next day i PM /Email her and i get no response.

THIRD WEEK
- for the last week and a couple days i have had no response what so ever to PMs/ Emails and i noticed she hasn't been on the boards ever since the last time we spoke which was a week ago [give or take]
-now im pissed and have filed a complaint through paypal... she has till the 10th of Dec. to respond or i get my money back [hopefully]

oh and on top of that she never gave me any tracking number at all, even for the first shipment she said she didnt have it because UPS didnt give it to her, which i thought was odd at first because when you drop it off the tracking number is on the receipt,

now im wondering if i should just call up paypal and complain so that i can get my money sooner because this is ridiculous! its almost a month and no Exhaust!

EDIT:

call paypal and if your lucky youll get your money back no gurantee though and just so you know it could take a while coz paypal will only return the money if they can recover it from her so like say her bank account has no money you wont get your money but when it has money paypal will force a refund and you will get all or some of your money back ... ive gotten small portions before over a period of months and also got full refunds i guess it depends on your luck

so wait, if her paypal balance is at $0 then i wont get anything? or would they automatically deduct the funds from her bank>paypal account then back to mine?

also forgot to mention, but not sure if it is even true, but according to her, she was using her "mom's" paypal account so thats why she had to get her own account. not sure if its even relevant though.

This is why we dont deal with 0 post people that joined a few days ago

In the FS thread it looked like Spoolin8 was local to her (probably a him) get an addy off paypal and ask him if he can pay him a visit. Also, when he didnt respond to Spoolin8's Pm's about dealing locally that should have been a red flag.

Good luck bro

You got sucked in because mr scammer made himself out to be a she

always use a CC for your purchases including Paypal, it's the only way to have any good recourse in a situation like this

.

Sorry to hear about that. You can tell from the 1st post with the spelling & wording that it was a scam. Also, the 2nd post from the seller is a copy & paste of the specs of the parts. Hope you get your money back.

If they're any good at scamming they have long since taken the money out of that account and closed it. Again, best of luck.

did you pay with a CC? if so do a charge back if paypal won't help you. usually it is the seller that get screwed by paypal so if they give you the money back they will go after seller even if their account has zero dollars.

I got scammed as a seller once because people use someone else's CC. I got the money, took it out of my PP account and then weeks later I get hit by PP saying I owe them XXXX dollars. I'm out what I sold and the money I made, except I had already spent it.... There was nothing I could do. Paypal just kept saying too f'ing bad for you, pay us or we send it to collections.

Paypal needs to do something where if the account is less than 6 months old or something you can't remove the money or make transactions that are more than a few hundred dollars. Nor should you be able to close the account with in 6 months of a transaction.

Paypal is good but they are flawed in so many ways. it's this stuff where I say the forum needs to have a way to say, you can't even post something for sale unless you've been a member for X months and contributed X amount of posts. Lots of other forums do this, I don't see why we can't. Not sure it will save everyone, but it at least stops someone from making a quick sale, if they came to scam, they aren't going to wait 3 months and post 100 times in any contributing way just to make a sale.

if she has any money in her account thats tied to paypal they will pull ut out and refund your money but if she was smart she would have made a bank account just for scams and then withdraws the money from the account so her bank account has a $0 balance ... then paypal cant get it and you are screwed ... trust me on this one you could try all you want if they cant get the money they wont give it to you

I agree w you rx8club should do that I've seen so many zero post people that only have 2 days on the club selling expensive things.wich are obviously scams or if they are legit they should HAVE to post a pic of they're username, date, and the product they're selling all in one pic.But even then it's not totally safe unless you can pick up the product yourself.

i also googled her [his maybe?] number and she was also selling other rx8 parts on other sites
but that was a while back and they are probably expired right now... ill see if i can find it.

here is the disconnected number 214-930-1573
heres what i found on google
http://www.google.com/search?client=...=Google+Search

i mean after searching this a while back, it seemed pretty legit, i mean she had pictures, she was selling other rx8 stuff locally in dallas through craigslist... so i thought ... why not?

Its been said, but I believe it should be stated again.
Only use Credit Cards on Paypal, so if something happens, fraud protection kicks in and Paypal is screwed rather than you. This has saved friends of mine many times, luckily, I dont use paypal.

You will only get your money back if Paypal still has access to it...if the account wasn't held before the money was taken out you are screwed...typical Paypal...

Use your Credit Card to fund the transaction on Paypal and you can go there to get your money...
