That's right, time for a big Multi-State meet! This meet is open to anyone in SoCal, Vegas, and even surrounding states who want to drive out and spend a few days with our Vegas friends.

Phil8 will be helping to organize this event, including a meet on Friday night and possibly a canyon drive to Red Rock on Saturday.
Phil will also be working on getting us a discounted Hotel rate for the weekend so stay tuned for Hotel name / rates.

Q: Isn't it too hot that time of year?
A: It's hot HERE so what's the difference. It's nothing that a pair of shorts and a t-shirt can't fix.

Q: But GAS PRICES are sooooo high!!!
A: Lets face reality. Gas prices ARE high and they're not coming down ANY time soon. Lets just get used to it and have some fun.

Q: Where are we staying?
A: Dominion is working on a reduced rate for us at the Candlewood Suites. You're free to stay anywhere you like, this is where I'll be and a great optoin for most.

Dominion (Gill) works at a local non gaming Hotel (kinda a big cheese but will not admit it) called Candlewood Suites and located at 4035 S. Paradise Road (approx Flamingo Road and Paradise). He is in the process of getting us a good price for rooms. He tells me that rooms are available as studios that have one queen bed. This room sleeps one or two for the same price. Then he has one bed room suites that have one queen in the bed room and a hideaway in front room (same price for up to 4). He needs to know how you want the rooms and how many rooms so he can get us a good price. He should have the price set in stone by Friday.

We are thinking of a Friday night meet with all the 8s and then a Saturday morning drive to Red Rock area for the group and maybe a brunch. We intend to leave you alone Saturday evening unless you hook up with some of us for separate get togethers. I will be posting from time to time to keep you guys updated and see what you would like. Jorge is your coordinator in Cali so go to him or post any questions you may have.

 

Phil, thanks for the update and the open invitation to host us crazy loons.
Non-gaming hotel will be a nice change of scenery. Besides, if we really want to gamble, the Strip is JUST down the road.


Friday night meet + saturday drive seems like an AWESOME weekend!

 

About 3 blocks from the strip walking distance to a couple of off strip casinos and plenty of free parking. Fuel is on it's way back down and the humidity is low so the heat will just fry you with out basting

 

lol... yah, my days have been like a roller-coaster ride.

some days i'm busy as heck. some days absolutely nothing. i'm both dreading and looking forward to getting all our systems over to WB. either way i will be out of a job come sept.

Hmmmmmmm. Well, Blackhat is August 2nd - 7th and Defcon is August 8th-10th. Basically that means I will be in Vegas that week either way. The question is, should I drive rather than fly. I fly for free.

If I don't drive, maybe ya can grab me from Caesars? ;-)

so im trying to organize a drive for sat morning, theres a real cool drive past lake las vegas with plenty of turns (for vegas anyway) and plenty of photo ops. Im just seeing what everyone thinks in the vegas thread.

Gil did not post it but he got a great rate of $59.00 per night for the studio rooms. He does need first and last names of guests - just PM Dominion that information. We should have a fun meet.
