Hey guys, unless i am missing something, I don't know of any meets that are going on around our area.
I see 8s everywhere and every time i can't stop thinking if is this guy is on forums or what?

let's organize a meet.
we could just pick a spot, like in the Ft. Lauderdale area somewhere, and get together. Introduce ourselves, pop the hoods, whatever...

 

i dont think anyone wants to meet in broward, everyone lives down south :-( ...id be down for a broward meet, or somewhere north of miami gardens drive....i cant go much further than that unless its on a weekend or somethin....during the day :-)

what I mean is we should organize like a good whole day event.
pick a spot, get the bbq going, hang out, get to know each other...

I am sure for a party like that people could take a 30 min drive.

Just imagine the looks, as all the 8ths line up in a park...

Looks like MIAMI got a lil group together for a meet i live in broward and I'm down to go..if anyone else is down we should ride out together..there is a car meet on thursdays in broward i go to it twice a month but they meet everyweek..itsa honda meet and i have seen a couple 7's there so interested let me know. it starts around 930 then the move to another location

 

where is the meet at, i miht check it out sometime.

So whats the deal

 

the deal is that everyone talks but no one does anything, ive held a few meets and out of everyone who said they would go I got maybe 1 or two people who has shown up.

 

+1... people are stupid and lazy.

 

That is why we need to make sure that there is going to be many people.
Setting up a meet for 10, of which 3-5 shows up, is not cool. We need to get the word out, and pull a list of as many as possible potential shows, of which some will drop out, but at some will come. if we could get together a gang on like 30 actually showing up, that would be a much more interesting meet. Maybe some will bring girls who are willing to wear bikinis? That would definitely increase the attendance. LOL
That, and this has to be a park, or a place where we could make food, and have a party, not just a parking lot.
We can do it somewhere 1/2 way between Miami, and West Palm. Like Boca or whatever, so more would be willing to come from both ends.

 

Thats cause there is no compromise in the location. The last time I posted in a thread regarding meeting I made a suggestion of meeting somewhere in the South Broward/North Miami area but it seems you did not like that idea.

If we want people to meet up we need to be fair to everyone driving...Not just the miami crew...No offense. I've been a car club president in the past and its a pain in the butt. My suggestion would be to find a park in the South Broward/North Miami area. In fact we could do a meet at the 1/4 mile track they have in the North/West part of Miami. We save ourselves any headaches of being kicked out of a parking location by police and we can even run our cars.

A little less complaining and more suggestions would be best (With Respect).

Trust me I understand but if "most" Miami 8's won't come to Tower Shops for a meet they certainly will not make an appearence in Boca. I would love to be proved wrong here but this is the trend.

So far the only crew willing to put miles on there cars are the Rx7 crew...kewl guys in my opinion. I've hung out with them in the past.

I'd drive south to ft lauderdale area np.

It seems when you try to get them together on 3 or 4 people get together despite 15 saying they'd come.

Good location seems 90% of the problem for bigger meets.

Moroso is good for me :-D

 

If Ft. Lauderdale is acceptible then we could go to Markam Park Next to the city of Weston. The Rx7 guys like to do a meet there once a year and its usually a good showing. Plus the park has tons of space and grills...ETC.

 

or you can all come to my shop and well do a 20B swap for everyone... hahah Not really...

Man, I'm seriously down for a meet.. I was always unable to go before because of work.. When I used to work late nights every night.. But yea, if you guys want to set a date and wait, I'm fine with that.

We need to aim for the Spring Break time. Seriously!

 

Yeah that is because ive been to broward alot to meet some of you guys, i went for boomers, and ive been to towers plenty, Im tired of going up there to meet with 1 or 2 rx-8 owners, Ive met with you, ive met with superman (who doesnt post anymore) and ive met a few others.

And so since there are so many owners here in miami I would like to meet them here in miami. Ive had the prevelage of meeting some people here, and even Munche came down to visit us so I could see and ride in his Supercharged 8 (drool) but I grew tired of barely anyone showing after giving notice well over a week in advanced, so I gave up.

 

Hey, guys stop pointing fingers.
this needs to be organized properly, with much longer notice than 1 week.
I want to have a decent meet, and until there are enough people interested no dates will be set.

With that said, let's compile a list of places that could potentially accommodate a party of 30-40 cars, with some tables, bbq area, plenty of shade, and parking lot, and no cops to bug us?

I am actually in Sunrise (Oakland Prk and Pine Island). Probably about 10 minutes or so from where you are.
