Ray - damn straight! once the date has been confirmed i'll throw up a thread regarding the Post Sevenstock Beach Cruise PART II. Hopefully we can get another solid crowd to roll with us again
Sevenstock has been in september for the last 4 years iirc...hopefully that doesn't change.

I've had a feeling for a couple of months now that Mazda NA doesn't care anymore because they won't be selling a rotary car. SS will have to go back to a SoCal run and therefore smaller social event.
The same thing is going to happen to Grand Am racing.
The Party is Over. We are orphans.

Ok now I know Car's and Cofee have a get together and looks like in a video they were pulling out of Mazda USA headquarters so why would they leave the die hard rotorheads out to dry.

they're not lagging guys, be patient.
It's no secret that Mazda lost money last quarter and their yearly earning weren't as good as they'd like so this isn't for lack of effort or planning on Bern's or the SoCal RX Club's part.
It's more of a logistic or financial decision at this point.
cross your fingers...

Seriously. Whats going on with this? You guys are really starting to approach where people might have problems getting vacation time due to insufficient notification of the date. If you guys delay it AT ALL, there will likely be serious travel problems due to it no longer being summer and all...

you guys still don't get it do you...
the SoCal RX Club (who plans SS) is not the one holding this up, they've been planning this since oh, I don't know... the day after the last SevenStock but the big roadblock currently is with Mazda due to schedule issues and the cost associated with this event.
Mazda's declining balance books and 12 month losses surely are not helping our cause.
Is this the end of Mazda?
No, definitely not. Not by a long shot but when one is losing this amount of money, putting on an event for a group of 'enthusiasts' (who already own your car) isn't exactly going to be very high on the priority list.
I hate to say it but IMO, we run the risk of not having a SevenStock this year so just be patient. Yes, I understand that means that it might be difficult for some to plan vacation on short notice but what is the alternative.... ?

TOKYO (Dow Jones)--Mazda Motor Corp. (7261.TO) said Thursday it swung hard into a net loss in the fiscal fourth quarter, as the yen's strength, sluggish domestic sales and quake-disrupted production in the last few weeks of the period bit into its bottom line. Citing the lingering impact of the March 11 earthquake, tsunami and ensuing supply chain disruption, the car maker said it can't yet make any reasonable forecasts for earnings for the fiscal year started April, highlighting problems facing the whole of Japan's auto industry.
Japan's fifth-largest car maker by volume posted a net loss of Y62.8 billion in the three months ended March 31, compared with a net profit of Y9.9 billion in the same quarter last year.
Mazda, which loosened its capital alliance with Ford Motor Co. (F) recently, but still maintains a tie-up with the U.S. company, said sales fell 1.3% in the quarter to Y607.8 from Y616.0 billion. It logged an operating profit of Y10.6 billion, about half of the Y20.5 billion it reported a year earlier.
The Hiroshima-based company's net loss for the 12 months ended March billowed to Y60.0 billion on its fourth-quarter woes, from Y6.48 billion a year earlier. Mazda bases its earnings on Japanese accounting standards.
