09 R3 wheel fitment

09 R3 wheel fitment
So I'm wanting to go with a wider tire and read what feels like 50 threads and 1000 posts but nothing really discusses going beyond 9 inch wide or offsets to accommodate wide wheels.
My goals:
255/35R19
Clear my suspension components
I am looking strongly at 19x9.5 wheels which fit 255 tires nearly perfectly straight. However they almost always come in either +40 or +25 offset.
25 will push the inside edge of the wheel out farther than stock an the 40 will be much farther in resulting in suspension interference I would assume.
My best solution I can think of is to use +40 and get small wheel spacers to push it out just far enough to clear my suspension.
Does anyone know if this would result in a need to "roll" my fenders?
Or does anyone have a better option while keeping wide wheels?

19x9.5 +40 will work fine. That will be nice and flush. No interference with suspension.
I just mounted 255/35/19 Continental Extremecontact Sport on my stock R3 wheels and they fit fine. 19x9.5 wheels are in the works for me too. Mine will be +38 offset.

That is quite a relief to hear. I have a body guy with all the proper tools for rolling fenders and I told him there is a chance they would need rolled up to a Max of maybe and inch and it didn't seem to bother him. Figured I'd leave that up to a pro since I don't have the tool and don't feel like phone booking my baby.
It is getting all new FRP body panel, KW coilovers, konig rotary forge wheels. And then going in for a custom paint job to bring it all together and figured if it needs rolled that would be the time to do it if it needs to be done so and paint damage will be fixed with the sand blast and repaint anyways.

I’d love to see some photos of the car after the wheel install. I’m very peculiar about my fitment and as a future Rx8 owner (Waiting on a black S2 R3 or GT with appropriate mileage and cleanliness to hit the market) I’m trying to get my build sheet set up. I live 5 minutes away from forgeline wheels headquarters so I hope they can help me achieve my fitment goals if I go there, but in the mean time I wanna see photos of all the different set ups you all are running on after market wheels.
