Turboxs exhaust system series II

Talked with TurboXs today and they claim that the exhaust they sell will fit series II (while its not specifically designed for it) I say that because they say that the stock exhaust hangers will not allow the tips to be placed properly. Does anyone know anything further about this, or what size or where I could obtain the correct size hangers. Would the hangers really do that much?

Thanks for any helpful posts

You absolutely need the hangers.

You will need 4 of these: Circuit Sports MHB-003-GD Exhaust Hanger 3 Hole Bushing Blue , or similar

If you do not use them, I can 100% guarantee that A. the tips will interfere with the shrouds, and B. if you manage to cram it in there, you will melt the shrouds within a day.

The TXS exhaust will fit once you get the hangers, but keep in mind that two problems will be present:

A. The intermediate pipe that connects the axleback to the cat will sit pretty low. On a stock height car this isn't an issue, but if you are lowered like I was, you will have some clearance issues.

Here is a comparison against another type of exhaust that actually fits properly:

B. The exhaust tips are not going to be level. Mind you I tried every adjustment configuration. Unfortunately the fact that the exhaust has to sit lower than designed, causes it not to mate as perfectly as one would expect. Look closely here, not only is it unlevel, but one tip stuck out further than the other slightly

C. Be prepared for some ruthless drone. I was shocked. I heard many good things about the TXS exhaust from S1 owners, but this newer design (blue tips) drones in the cabin like crazy. I even fatmatted the trunk, no dice. Just be forewarned.

Wow that was like a 10 star response. So are the only issues, basically cosmetic minus how low it hangs? I have standard height R3 so I don't think it's much lower If any than stock. Personallu, do you think I should try and get out of this bedore I get my self too far into it, or do you think it'll bea good exhaust? do you still have it on yours? would you reccomend a better one? I hope if I decide to return it, I won't have to pay shipping due to their poor advertising. That woild be too easy though

For the price, the exhaust really can't be beat. If the aesthetic flaws don't bother you (honestly, no one noticed it but me), and you don't have clearance issues (Other stock height S2 owners haven't had issues), the only other thing you need to worry about is the noise level in the cabin. This is a characteristic though of any 3" exhaust system.

I think you will like the exhaust. On the outside it looks great, sounds great, and the finish is the same as an exhaust that is twice the price.

I no longer have the exhaust, because I didn't want to risk eventually tearing a hole in the intermediate pipe from scraping.

Just make sure you have those hangers

You think the drone is borderline unbearable? Also, does it happen at a certain RPM or is it normally pretty constant? Does it just rattle and humm a lot or what? Did you think the set up was too loud or anything?

Once again, thanks for your help

Pretty consistent. Loud humming in the cabin. It was mostly prevalent during normal cruising (you will find that on 3" exhausts the drone starts to fade when you are up high on the RPM band).

Unbearable? ehh thats really personal preference. I now how a RR single which is loud so, to me no it wasn't unbearable. My reason for getting rid of it was the scraping issue.

Eh I think ill give it a shot. I mean giving up now means I have to pay shipping and 15% restocking fee, so i suppose its worth a shot. Winter isnt too far away anyway. Appreciate it man. Very helpful.

Everything that Paimon said I would have to almost agree. I also have the TXS Cat-Back and I also had to use 4 of the longer hangers he stated. I seemed to have a little better luck getting the tips to line up though. Also the exhaust has never scraped on me but I am at stock height. The drone from the exhaust is bad at 45-60mph in 6th gear but most other speeds in any other gear isn't too loud at a constant speed. Especially at highway speeds around 70mph it isn't that much louder than stock in my opinion. Although I did not install the race pipe, I kept the stock mid-pipe. As a reference, I took a three hour trip with the exhaust on roads with 55mph and 60mph speed limits and it was bearable but not enjoyable.

I've had the exhaust on for almost a year now and I love the sound of it and I believe it's the best exhaust for the money.

P.S. I have the 4 inch polished tip exhaust not the blue tipped one Paimon had.

I installed it without the hangners at first and I did burn my tip a bit. I then cut some excess with an exacto knife, and it never gotten worst but I did install hangers afterwards. it sits pretty strait but like paimon said, its not perfect, if you use your OEM cat the sound is perfect, no drone for me and a nice pur at idle and really nice up in the revs, with the mid pipe its an whole other exhaust note, EXTREMELY loud at high rpm and droning at cruising speed over 3000 rpm. but the sound is really awsome if your looking for a rotary from hell sound.

and them comes the Back fires. lol

This should also work with the TXS if you do have a midpipe and are having issues with rasp/drone. Has been working flawlessly for me so far (only one week, time will tell).
