Passenger Window Mechanism Frustration
UK R3 2010.
For the 4th time in 3 years my passenger window won’t motor down from either switch. There is a low volume buzzing noise suggesting that the motor is trying but failing to move the window.
On the previous 3 occasions I took the fitting apart, couldn’t find anything wrong with the window, guides, mechanism and motor when I tested them separately and, on refitting, found that it worked again.
I want to sort this once and for all.
is there are known issue here? For example, is the position of the guides critical?
As I can’t find used S2 parts here in the UK the cheapest fallback option is to buy a used S1 mechanism & motor off eBay but is it a suitable replacement?
Any other advice?

Update:
As this has had a fair number of views (thanks for your interest) without an answer I've bitten the bullet and ordered a new motor and regulator from Mazda. My peace of mind (and avoiding the frustration and shame of failing again) is worth the $150 they cost here in the UK. If I find anything from the old parts I'll post again in case it might be of interest to someone later.

Window motors and especially the door lock motors suck big time! Found an great replacement using Mazda 6 parts, way cheaper and just as good. I believe $100 for all four.
Mine is a 05 so take with a grain of salt. If the window tracks are good and regulator is well greased, motors are weak, check all the electrical connectors. Might be a voltage loss somewhere.
Search for similar parts on other Mazda's, can save some coin and cheap spares.
