P0411 after racing beat header

Yes, I searched.
https://www.rx8club.com/tags/p0411/
Each thread ether ends with nothing or goes off on a tangent.
The obx thread doesnt seem to apply.

I have an 09. Had no cels before with resonated cat delete.
Installed the racing beat header an immediately threw a code.

I know the airpump is fine, all connections have been triple checked, and it simply worked before.

I reused the OEM gasket for the air tube and installed it in the correct fashion.

Any ideas?
Thanks

double check the o2 sensor and its plug, make sure all the gaskets aren't leaking and every bolt to spec.

I installed a few and didn’t ever hear of the problem. However, when I sold one that I decided not to use for myself, the person who bought it said he had the same thing happen. I had pm’d him several times after for follow up and he never replied back. So I’m not sure if he just blocked the code instead or got it to work. Later in the OBX thread people discuss this with the RB header. I had never saw those before today though. Some said it just went away after several drive cycles. Blocking it would be the simple solution. It’s not clear if you’re claiming to have deleted the cat without blocking those codes or not?

The two bolts for the air tube were torqued correctly. o2 Sensor was never disconnected from the harness, and was also re-tightened correctly.

I have the cat deleted but for whatever reason didnt throw any codes before. Only reason I mentioned the cat at all is to note that I am not throwing the code because of a clogged or bad oem cat.

Are there any adverse effects to blocking off the airtube? Racing beat even sells a plate for this.

Thanks guys

Ill take you up on that.

Since I have no Cat, you think I should just delete the airpump as well?
Throwing the code doesnt effect anything otherwise, correct?
Thanks

Hey there! Didn't find any exhaust leaks under the car, and everything seems to be tight. The ECU turned off the CEL, so I haven't bothered trying to fix further. The code is still stored though...

Observations of WB O2 sensor readings show that the air pump is pushing enough air for the WB O2 to read lean, but not enough to saturate the sensor like before when I had the stock header.

Since I have no Cat, you think I should just delete the airpump as well?

Well, without a Cat I don't see the point of the air pump. And you should be able get rid of the Secondary Air control valve as well. Just remember to plug the vacuum line from the solenoid (or better yet, cap the nipple at the solenoid if you can get to it). The code doesn't affect anything else.
