Attached is a recent Quick Reference Guide for all Mazda's concerning Control Units or Module Initialization-Configuration (Not Plug in and Play) with Mazda IDS (or MMDS).

Although for North American Mazda's, this application chart also applies to most other countries (as a reference).

So if you are renewing any of these parts (modules) listed in .pdf you (in most cases) require a VCM/VCI (Pass Through Device) plus IDS Software on suitable PC,
and then in many cases a generated Incode (PATS, Passive Anti Theft System, or called a security code). .

In some cases your cars individual "As Built Data" is also sometimes required.

All usually done at/by your Mazda Dealer.

Also included is a list (PDF) of all Mazda PCM/ECU Vendor (Brand) names including Transmissions and Engines from 1995.
