Jacked up the 8 in the wrong spot

I guess this is intended as a warning for future noobs like me who'll someday need to jack up their 8s.

Today I jacked up the car on the side, wanting to check my starter number. Even after doing my research here about proper jack points for the 8, stupid me still somehow got it wrong ... and now there is a bump on the floor of the driver side. Thankfully nothing seems damaged because of it; door still closes, electronic-seats still functions, etc. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna bring her to a body shop to get it fixed or just leave it be.

.. but yeah, if you want to jack up the 8 on the side (series one to be exact), jack her on the lower, thin strip of metal surface.

*edit* whoops, wrong thread. can someone move this to the Series I equivalent, thanks!

I do mine on the part of the frame that the transverse crossmember and the front lower A-arm is linked. It's a sure shot that part of the car is solid.

I suggest read the manual first before working on any vehicles.

Look on the bright side, at least you didn't keep going and punch a hole in the chassis
