TX FYI: S2 Gas Cap Recall

I know nothing about this other than the fact that they replaced mine when I went in for an oil change.

Just wanted to let everyone know.

Good. The gas cap is kinda cheesy and has no holster. But i'm sure they wont give us one now!

What do you mean by "has no holster/holder"? Isn't yours connected with that plastic leash thing?

Yeah, but it just dangles against the body, which I'm not crazy about. I've never seen any designed-in method of holding it while re-fueling, which some other cars do have.

There's a plastic tab on the bottom right side of the filler area.
You have to wrap the gas cap cord around it to prevent it from flopping on the side of your car.

That's what I do every time I fill up, anyway.

BC.

The plastic clip is the holster. My gas cap never dangles on the side. Look for it.

I just went out and checked and I think he is talking about the black metal "clip" on the bottom right that is more a srping to help push the lid out when you open it.

Hmm, is it a recent recall? I had the oil changed about a month ago and they said nothing of it.

That's because they probably lost his gas cap when they went to change his oil. Then told him it was recalled.

Mr. ******,
The service guy said this before they took my car back.:eyecrazy:

As I said before, this is just what the guy told me in person. He could have been high on gas fumes for all I know. :P
