Quick question, will a steel driveshaft from an automatic Rx8 fit on a manual?

Would go on an S2, coming from either series.

Unfortunately, they are two different parts according to this. The automatic is P/N PA4025100, and is only $398. The manual, not so lucky. It's P/N PC0125100E, and is $1,270....

 

I'll own up to this one. I didn't dig deep enough before I posted. It seems that the drive shafts are able to be swapped as the dimension are the same. I had reservations about the carbon drive shaft holding up with higher power. However I found a thread that suggested the manual drive shaft is still sufficient around twice stock power.

 

Carbon fiber driveshafts are normally just as strong or stronger than aluminum or steel. Check out the torque ratings for different materials in different applications at a place like driveshaftshop.

 

My co-worker has a GT500 (600+hp) and they have a CF driveshaft, I think you will be fine.
