Deciphering Series 2 OMP lines

Hey guys -

I just spent 45 minutes trying to figure out Series 2 OMP (oil metering pump) lines. They unfortunately aren't documented well anywhere and they are confusing.

As of this writing the lines are about $40 a pop. If you're rebuilding or working on an engine and just need one or two lines, no sense buying the whole set for $240 when you only have one bad line. Or, in my case, you trip over a rotor housing in the garage and the OMP line breaks when it catches on the tool box There are 2 oil metering pumps.

Middle OMP injector line goes to oil pump on left when looking from front. This pump only has one line from each rotor. This is the new middle oil injector they added on S2 cars.

2 side OMP lines go to oil pump on right when looking from the front. This OMP has 2 lines from each rotor.

FRONT ROTOR

N3R1-14-690

N3R1-14-69Y

REAR ROTOR

N3R1-14-660 closest to center iron

N3R1-14-670

Hope this helps someone down the road! The Mazda parts diagram is SUPER confusing on this too.

Hi Dale,

Thanks for the informative post, I was having trouble finding the 6th line. Anyways, doesn't anybody else think 240$ for these lines are a little insane? Has anybody else with a s2 thought about replacing them with custom lines? There are custom kits for s1 rx8s and the rx7s, but not a lot of information about the s2.

As you are aware these 6 supply lines from EMOPs to Nozzles are also much shorter in length to any other rotary or RX-8 S1's.

So far I have not seen or heard of any aftermarket lines as replacements, although i must admit have not searched.

Have you had to renew and for what reason?, because they are old and brittle (heat) and or blocked or leaking.?

Yes the EPC parts listing is messy as it includes every part and copper washers, etc.

When I had my new engine installed, the technician accidentally broke one of my OMP lines for the rear rotor and they just simply fabricated a new set from copper tubing. It has been tested and confirmed to still work perfectly fine, just like normal. Cost like $40.
