Brake Rotor rust on inside of wheels?

I live in VA and it's been raining alot recently. As a result the brake rotors get some surface rust on them. Thus the first time you hit the brakes all the rust gets slung inside the wheel.

Do the factory rotors not come plated like some cars do? If they don't do new brembo blanks come plated? Is the dust shield supposed to catch this stuff?

^the stock rotors tend to rust very badly, not sure if they are plated or not but you will also soon notice a build up of rust around the areas on the rotor where the pads dont hit as well

pretty lame if you ask me. Luckily the coating on the r3 wheels and the openness of the wheel makes it easy to wipe out. but still retarded if you ask me. You drop 30k on a brand new sports car and if it sits for a day you get rotor rust =(

yeah the remark of "boat anchor" when it comes to the brakes is correct.

coating wont help, cuz it gets worn off as you use the brakes.
the only solution would be carbon fiber or ceramic

Geez, what do you expect, the Disc is steel, when you stop you are cleaning steel, if you don't use your car and water gets on the rotors, naturally they will rust, every car I have ever had does the same.

Now as far as the fine surface rust mark on the rotor boss/ wheel nut area between brake disc area and boss, I rubbed a little WD40 (or fine oil) on this area and ends of vented rotor disc's and have No Surface Rust even after 2 years.

^ of course you have to be careful not to get any WD-40 on the pad-contacting rotor surface.

Many use caliper paint on that inner rotor ring that doesn't contact the pads.

I've seen rusted rotors before. I guess I'm not used to how frequently you need to clean much larger wheels. Always had tiny wheels that you couldn't see the inside of unless you took the rim off the car
