2009 owner's manual to be used by r3 owner?

The Mazda dealership where I obtained my 2009 r3 has yet to provide me with the hard copy of the owners manual. I have the 2009 om PDF that I found online. It makes no claim to sport/touring/r3, Is that the exact same book as the r3, or is there one specifically (with only a few changes) for the r3?

The cover of my 2009 RX-8 manual has a picture of the R3 on it.

They are going to give you the manual for free? I bought my 09 used and my owners manual was long gone, I can't see why the dealer would replace it for you unless of course your paying for it.

I think he was asking if the 09 manual has an "R3" edition that would be different. I don't believe there's an R3 edition as this manual includes options that are not included with the R3... I would assume producing many manuals for each trim around the world would be difficult.

Manuals come pretty cheap though.

Yep, the US and ALL owners manuals cover ALL variants for their Models..as Jason said.

So the S2 OM, would have R3, Auto's, and GT trim and feature levels.

Suspension for the R3 is referred to as "Sports Suspension" from memory.

Ok, I suspected that might have been the case, since I made similar observations:
Some of the seat adjustments applied to the r3 only since the ricaro seats were illustrated as alternates to the others and also the manual seat triangle dial was explained along with the automatic seat adjustments in the gt.

Yeah, I technically bought the car from the dealer, so I expect a manual free of charge. Is that not normal?

No.

If it's a "Used" car, certified or not. You see what you get. A lot of dealerships around here keep all modifications on all cars. They don't bother to remove, fix, or replace any parts that need to be there.

IE: Tint, window trim, chrome, etc.

I bought mine from Carmax - the only thing they guarantee is that the car won't have floor or frame damage. Everything else is up in the air.

I got lucky.

If it's a "New" car, then I would hope the manual came with it :P

Even if it's from a Mazda dealership, huh? Fair enough. They did promise it to me either way, so maybe one day they'll call me to say it finally arrived on order.

Having bought it with about 18 k and much warranty remaining, how do they expect me to treat the car right while under warranty without then owners manual. That seems stupid to me, but I guess in this case or similar ones, nobody really cares?

Either way, that PDF is on the iPad, so it's as close to hard copy as it gets.

You don't get an Owners Manual IF you bought the car second hand and was missing when traded in or purchased by the Mazda Dealer USED...as said by Rogue...

Like anywhere your used or second hand car is as is....

Whether purchased used from a Mazda Dealer or a Lada or Ford Dealer, or Fly Buy Motors you buy the car as is..

You can purchase the original Paper Owners Manual if you want to from the/your Mazda Dealer.
Or contact the only Mazda Dealer who advertises in this forum..Jason Baggie...Montgomery Mazda...for $55.00 plus shipping.

I suggest you persist with them and hassle them until they do so as they are readily available, a 2010, or 2011 OM will also work.

I would also get in fast as these types of publications expire VERY FAST when the vehicle is no longer imported..the Maker is not "obliged" to continue making Paper Manuals available like OEM Spare Parts.

I figured this would be the case, ash.

I've gone ahead and purchased the 3 workshop manuals - for 2009. Which if ever this car goes back up for sale - will include.
workshop manual, service highlights, wiring diagram (I know, I can see the CD staring me in the face from inside my dvdrom)

I doubt i'll find a Hayne's repair manual anytime soon for the RX-8
