''No Disc'' message

I've got a 09 R3 and My Head unit isn't recognizing that CDs are in the changer (6 cd changer). Radio works fine, Aux as well.

When I press CD, it says ''no disc'', no beep noise, and eject neither.
Load will occasionally beep but shows no message

I got the code - 1 22:er01

using the service highlights for the 2009 from foxed.ca, I mange to get that code and it states

1 : sanyo automedia (personally think it was BOSE???)
22 : MP3 application CD changer (makes sense)
er01 : Internal mechanism error (makes sense also)

I've tried erasing the code from the test procedures but it is right back when I restart.

I've even tried hitting it, you know the ''tap'' test lol

still nothing, tried unplugging the battery for awhile even though I'm sure all it does is the same as the clear codes procedure.

As anyone experience this before?

I dont recall there being a firmware update for the 09-11 audio systems so as long as the product you are looking at is designed for the late model systems you should be ok (remember that the 09-11 rely heavily on CANBUS while the 03-08 used a lot of SPI for data transfer, so ipod cables may not be forward/backwards compatible). I'll see if I can dig up some information to verify.

Sidenote ... last night I came across an oem 6 cd on the E for a relatively good price. I wish I had the link with me.
