Weird, I have seen many of these installed, both on S! and S2 RX-8's. maybe the way they are being wired? Try PM'ing grungepup, he is our local member who has installed 5 or 6 of these so far. maybe he wires them differently that you guys are. I don't see how that could be an issue but we have never seen this problem before either so obviously something is going on.

Oh, and yeah, reusing the OEM rubber gasket is a must IMO.

12. My unit looks like Rogue's except the lenses are red instead of smoked.

9K I remember talking to you about my issue and you were kind enough to send some pics. of yours but I still don't know what's going on so I just shelved mine until I could find a solution.

Sorry for being off topic but it's a shame you couldn't get a white r3 here in the states. It looks so sharp

rx8it, Did you want to send me the tail light?

I can check it out with my car and see if it's a problem with mine as well.

I hate you guys. My stock gasket was toast, so I used the stiff one. I thought it looked fine until now.

Take it out and heat it up and let it cool down a few times.

Thread revival:

I actually did this mod a while ago, with a brake light flasher that only activates when the braking force exceeds a certain G-force.

(Yeah, I realized one of the wires popped loose from the butt connector. It was fixed and my light works properly.)

Anyway, I found out what they have used for the RX-8 OP posted. It's actually a unit designed for NB Miatas but will fit in S2 RX-8 as well according to the Japanese website the photos originated from.

You can get the unit here:
