Knight Sports lip or RE Amemiya front bumper?
Seriously need all input on this one guys. Since I have an 09 Sport and cant get the RE Amemiya skirt that looks amazing on the R3 i'm torn between the Knight Sports front lip and the RE Amemiya front bumper... I'm wondering the fitment issues that come with a FRP bumper specifically one from RE Amemiya.. any input is appreciated.
Cheers!
BTW i attached pics of both if you haven't seen em lol

Personally i like the Knight Sports more, the RE-A looks makes cars look like it has huge mouth
You will have none or very little fitment issues from either one of them (as long as you go authentic)

Yeah i was going to order off Japanparts.com so i'm guessing little to no fitment issues from there?
And i kind of like the wide mouth look with the actual bumper Knight Sports seems like they just elongated the bumper...

Japanparts.com only deal with legit parts.
I wouldn't stress about fitment, KS and RE-A are top manufacturers
The KS kit looks to be a lip kit for your existing bumper, do check
It's my favorite, i'm a really big fan. wish i had a S2 Spirit R now

Idk but bad news guys, when ordering the lip from Japanparts after paying they contacted me and said Knight Sports discontinued the lip... I'm inquiring if its still available in Carbon Fiber, it was going to cost about 730 with shipping to my door too :l
Does anyone know any places that might HAVE it in stock?

If you're dead set on the KS lip then RHDJapan might be able to import it for you.
An equally sexy alternative is the Odula front lip, JDM Japanese Auto Parts specialists | japanparts.com

But the Odula lip is only for the R3 (or RS after M/C)
I'm iffy about the KS bumper i think i need to see more pics...
Thanks for the RHDJapan suggestion though I really appreciate the quick responses

Someone needs to make a replica in the states, or something. Heck, even find a way to put a s1 lip on the s2! Non R-3 people have little to no options.

Yeah I contacted multiple vendors including RHDJapan and Nengun and it's a definite No go on the KS lip.. So I've switched plans and have decided to do an R3 bumper swap and import the RE-A front lip..
The Bumper cover is on its way and My local Mazda has all the minor parts on hand (saves on shipping lol)
So quick question what's a good quote on getting the bumper painted?
I've shopped around and have gotten.
$175 bring it at 8am get it back by close of business
$250 two day job. (also where local Mazda sends their parts for paint)
$200-250ish 3 days
$400 and 2 days
I'm inclined to do the 250 but not sure if 175 is a great/realistic deal..

I priced out an R3 bumper with the OE lip from my local Mazda dealer.. It's almost a $1000 for everything. With the current exchange rate in favor of the USD, I am inclined to order the full bumper and matching side skirts from Japanparts.com ~$1500 shipped which is still cheaper than buying them together here in locally which is over $2000 plus paint.

Wow that's crazy cheap when I checked at the beginning of the year I was paying something like $2300 for the side skirts and bumper with shipping to Texas.. So I went local I paid 439 w/shipping for the bumper itself and don't need the under spoilers since I'm adding the RE-A lip lol.. But that's gonna cost about 800 or 900 (CF) so after everything is painted/ installed probably a total of $1300 which isn't bad..

I don't think you can get the R3 bumpers pre painted from Japan any longer. We tried to do a groupbuy with Mazmart - put deposits down - told to wait six months. We waited about four or so and then told they were no longer able to get them.

You are right. R3 bumpers are no longer painted.. Side skirts are and also much cheaper compared to getting them locally. ~1500ish was for seaport delivery plus customs which is prolly another $100ish (i hope) ..

Now the only other thing is because the Japan ones comes as an accessory - they will have the drilling templates for the side skirts whereas the USA ones are replacement parts so no template. Your on your own for mounting.
The ends will secure to existing holes but not the middle. I use 3m VHB tape but there is a slight gap. I've been meaning to redo it but so far I'm fine with it.

Well I just got my bumper back the guy did a pretty good job on the color matching (Sparkling Black Mica) and I just put on my CF mazdaspeed wing so I'm torn between the CF RE Amemiya lip or the FRP one... Any suggestions?
