2009 Touring HID conversion kits

So i have the series II touring model (no HID) and was wondering from those who had experience with these conversion kits, who makes good quality kits? I hve seen some for as cheap as $57, would i be getting what im paying for? also do these HID bulbs get hotter than my stock bulbs ( considering painting headlight housings black while i have the headlights cracked open, would i be at a greater risk of the black housing making my headlights even hotter with the HID's?) Lastly, opening the headlights worries me for the long term, would i be putting my headlights at a greater risk of getting moisture inside them in the future which could lead to an awful foggy looking headlight in, say 5-10 years?? Thanks ahead of time for all the help and input you guys can offer

If you have a Series II Touring model, you should have HIDs. Does your car have the factory fog lights? How about DSC (Dynamic Stability Control)?

Are you sure you don't have a "Sport" model?

Most aftermarket HID kits just replace the standard bulb. You don't have to open your headlight housings at all.

If you dont in fact have the HID's already in the GT (Which you should) you can install a conversion kit without problems.

I have used both the VHID Premium and the DDM Tuning 6k conversions and they worked really well. The only thing you need to consider is getting a "spacer" as regular bulbs will be far too loose in the housing. If you check out my pics in my sig you can see what I used as a spacer.

Also note that a conversion kit wont be as crisp as a stock HID housing because the halogen housings use a different lens and cutoff shield than the HID housings.

Here you go, thats what I used. On the right is what the stock bulb uses, and you can see the four "prongs" that stick up that space the bulb forward a bit. You need some sort of shim to make up for that lost space. I got these gromets at sears for like 10 cents.
