As long as it is just the obd2 test then you should be fine. Once you kill the cels check your emissions readiness and see what it says. If it does not have the ability to throw the cel I would think you should be set. I'm just not sure if it will set it to completed or exactly what it does, I guess it would depend on how the ecu was programmed.

I can personally say the adaptronic works great I have it on mine and it never pops up. However I have a turbo 8 if that makes a difference

Well I got mazdaedit personal and I disabled the p0420 cel (dtc in mazdaedit). I've had a Bluetooth odb2 adapter for a year or two now. Usually, I get "Completed" in a emissions check that torque has integrated into it. So far its not moved off of "Not Ready." I've been driving it around for two days with no CEL. (That I am happy about), but I do believe when I get hooked into their machine I'm not going to pass the emissions test. They don't do the exhaust probe thing but I do believe the computer will never release a Complete response out of the emissions side of its check much like my Torque app detects. Kinda like removing the power from the battery to clear your car before an inspection. Without so many miles being on the vehicle they wont be able to test it (Avg 200mi for good measure.) BUT, I will try and get it inspected later this year just to see what happens.

Commenting on earlier post in this thread. I've tried it all.... Spark plug fowlers, or even a minicat (spark plug fowler with a cat filter in it) DOES NOT WORK on a s2. I've spent some good time/finding this out..

It technically needs a specific set of circumstances. They are usually hit within a few days, but it's possible that it could take longer.

I have heard that sometimes blocking the CEL prevents the readiness monitor, but I also know of cases in which it definitely did let it go to "Ready". I would suspect that if it doesn't go "Ready", then you are missing a step somewhere, and to keep investigating it in the MazdaEdit thread.

You can have 1 or 2 of the emissions checks set as "not ready" and still pass the test. Check with your local emissions people and ask how many they allow but that is how it is out here.

I believe you can still pass a self e-check kiosk thing if you have no CEL, so that is a plus.
