Get the CEL code read at Autozone (free) and let us know what it is.
Could be anything and we would all just be throwing random guesses in the air.

anti-foulers don't work on the rx-8.

If the CEL code comes back as being P0420, then its because you're running catless.
Never hurts to have the code read just to be safe.

Some people with older models can get away with having a midpipe and no CEL (maybe less than 10%).
No way to tell for sure which cars will/will not experience this.

Okay, normally I'm against bashing anyone, but before you open your mouth, why don't you try the "search" function and read up on the subject.

It will occasionally work on the 2004 model.
Usually, the light will trip in two or three drive cycles on the 2005.
It will fail almost immediately on the 2006 - 2008.

time to contact ^ this guy and get an accessport so you can eliminate the CEL from the PCM.

or if you're cheap, you can use the "sticker" method.

Nice 'tar, J!

I suggest the "sticker" method. Adds 10 HP, even though it is inside the car.
