If you're trying to fit s2 radiator into s1 car, then you have to do the mod like Team described. It's no a major mod but it's also not plug and play.

I don’t know if anyone have seen Drivenbymadness an his Koyo 53mm install.

The 36” you think works fine or better that the OEM S1?

yes I read that, thanks for that investigation. I have a aftermarket shop and sales the 36mm and the 48mm R3

i always respect your knowledge Team. Thanks for the reply.

I have a manual controller fans for three speed modes and with the oem radiator. All worked fine till this issue.

is only a money/installation question.
Sellers says that koyo’s N flow is the goal.

and now I read Hyper V flow in the 36mm.

that was my confusion for choosing one o another.

sorry Team, I try to not disturb much as I can read 20 years of renesis study.

In my case is paying and spending time properly.

I again apologize for my previous inappropriate reply. The situation did get the best of me and I need to reflect on why that is.

However, in regard to your reply; without having fit the 43mm S2 radiator in an S1 chassis I’m reluctant to suggest going that route, or without you at least being aware that it may not fit properly and possibly require some adjustment on a fully factory stock RX8 having the battery and full intake system in place.

Regarding the wider race radiator, to get a definite answer on that you’d need to contact Koyo and see what they have to say. Being wider still, there might be a fitment interference with those items as well. Having not used one, I can’t say. They would also have to confirm this too, but as was already mentioned, in the thread their literature states that the 36mm hypercore has the same cooling capacity as the 53mm race core. Now maybe the race version is wider or taller to increase area and possibly increase cooling capacity. Again, I don’t know.

Generally speaking, the wider a radiator is, the more restrictive it is for air to flow through it. In a race situation the car is likely to be operated at higher speeds, which is going to help overcome the restriction of the thicker core. So it might not be the best choice for low speed use on a street car. The issue for most street RX8s though is not the radiator. The issue imo is the OE fans are inadequate and all the junk at the front of the engine bay is restricting flow passing out of the radiator. I don’t care how big the radiator is, without addressing one or both of those two things the cooling still won’t be adequate.

So my feeling is the 36mm S1 version should be fine and if there are cooling issues with it then the problem is likely too much flow restriction out of it or the engine bay.

Alright,

coming soon the 336mm koyo radiator. Also coming the flex a lite 420.

as I read, 9k installed and saying good things of it.

as a universal kit:

do we have some installation registered so I can follow?

I'm not good in electricity and i don’t want to damage the car.

if there is any experience with these PAL420 I thank you a lot.

you’ll see them when you take the OE fans out, but all you do is wire the new fans in exactly like the factory fans as direct replacements. You’ll either need new aftermarket wiring connectors or to wire them in direct. I recall one fan has wiring out of it and the OE connector on the end. So you could cut that wiring/connector off the OE fan and wire it to the one new fan. The other OE fan only has an integral female connector directly on the fan housing though. So you’ll have to cut off the male connector from the factory wiring harness and do something different there to connect to the other new fan.

Hello everyone,








passenger side (LHD) I understand that black goes with black and red with red.

but I don’t know if the black of the driver side is also ground and the blue is for the red one.

Sorry to be so idiot not understanding the wiring diagram.

if you get it backwards the fan runs in the opposite direction is all and then you just switch them, but technically that should be correct because you’ll see they eventually terminate to a grounding point if you follow it all the way through on the wiring diagram.

Well again, in my colored diagram you can see the Battery + power supply points for the fans at the top of the diagram all terminate at the ground points at the bottom. So that should be the correct wiring regardless. You should always follow the manufacturer guidelines too. I might be thinking of a dual pusher-puller type fan that can run in either direction.

you can see how they work. I know it’s quite stupid to show these but I think there isn’t any video of the operating process.

only to take note, fan 3 (relay. 3) runs only at high speed the fan 2 as yo can see in my video.

I like these position because it keeps really stable the heat you want to choose. For example, if you want to be at 93°, with these one it keeps long time stable in street use.
