ok so i ordered the bhr ignition kit but my order status still says accepted payment....is it just going to say that until it is shipped? I ordered it last monday Aug.16th. I know they say it can take up to 3 weeks but it would be nice if it were possible to track whether the ignition kit is being made, finished, shipped, or on the way. I just want the dam thing already! lol

Yes, it would be nice to get regular appraisals on progress but with 30-40 kits in various states of assembly at any given time I haven't the ability to keep each and every coil kit customer apprised of the status of their particular kit. Don't forget, we also build/manufacture many other things for the RX-8 as well as "flip" parts like other vendors on this forum.

Then there are the dozens of phone calls, text messages, e-mails we receive asking tech questions.

Plus, new product development.

The typical shipping time on our coil kits is solidly between 2-3 weeks now.

lol very true. I guess I'll be expecting it by sept 5th....I trust you guys and everyone else and their reviews about your product and Im looking forward to the day I get it!

Technically speaking, how does the BHR ignition kit compare to the Esmeril? For N/A and FI.

All I know is I love my BHR coils. I got them a day before my track day. Easy install and there was a noticable difference in idle and mid-range. The Track was 108-110 degrees and the coils ran like champs. WELL worth it over stock!!

^Make sure to let us know how they are! Some of us need new coils and are still on the fence about dropping $500 on new coils!

No worries Charles I got your back! Im getting them installed friday and I'll let everyone know how they are

The only thing I have doubts about are my needs for this kit. $500 is a big jump from just buying another set of OEM coils. My coils are still original and have 48,XXX miles on them. I've recently started seeing a decline in mpg so I figure its time for some new coils. I don't track my car and am just wondering if I need coils this badass or if I should just get a new set of OEM for about $140 and get my mpg back to normal. No offense meant Charles and I guess I have read enough reviews of the coils to know its a potent upgrade. Just trying to justify spending almost 4 times more for coils over the ones that have lasted me almost 50K miles :/

Stock coils "last" 50k miles but at least 20k of those miles are below an acceptable standard
Aside from all the performance comments i can say that this upgrade is worth the money just for the way the spark plugs look after a while. A clean spark on a clean spark plug means a better performing, longer living engine. Carbon build up kills a rotary, a bad spark makes this process faster.
Of course this is just my opinion given your use of the car but i think that we can agree that it is a pretty unbiased one.

Well I just moved to VA and am still getting established and such. My AccessPORT is sitting by collecting dust still need to record my stock data and send it to Jeff (probably later since I'm sure he's swamped from all the last minute orders of tunes) but don't worry your coils have been on my mind for a very long time now. In short, I'm probably going to buy your kit eventually, I just don't know it yet

It is a chunk of change BUT I have experienced more lower and mid range power, BETTER mpg, smoother idle, quicker throttle response. I know these are kinda generic gains that always get posted for new products, but the difference from stock coils to BHR coils was definitely noticed. Also my 09 Rx8 only has 4k (pretty much brand new) and I noticed a significant change. I am sure in your case changing out to BHR coils would be like night and day. Oh and mpg I saw at the gas pump! Keeping a lil money in my pocket...

bro you want my honest opinion? ITS AMAZING....get it you wont regret it!!!! And I have just under 4,000 miles so even with a new car you can see a very noticeable difference. Here I'll make it even easier for you and post the link:

Doesn't really pertain to the S2's but I ordered my kit a few days ago. A little excited but trying to not get my hopes up too high and then the coils don't meet them. I'm actually trying to be as skeptical as possible. BTW Charles just wanna double check that you know my billing address and mailing address are different? The e-mail from BHR only shows my billing address. I'm sure you guys know, I would just hate to wait 3 weeks for the coils and then they accidentally end up at the wrong address.

Its no biggy at the moment since I'm sure it'll take time to make.

Glad to hear you guys are busy! Good work is better than no work! I'm pretty stressed out at my new job too. But the pay is good and the hours are short

Just checked my bank account and WAY lower than it should be. Upon further investigation I saw that I purchased not one, but two BHR ignition coils on accident. Sorry Charles, guess I want those coils pretty badly lol

I sent your site an e-mail asking to refund me for one of the sets.

I'm thinking of ordering the BHR ignition system but had a question. The description states:

"The GM ignition coils we use emit more current and voltage than the Mazda ignition coils while providing much longer life over the stock system. "

How long are these GM coils expected to last? I have stock engine but my car sees lots of track time. Secondly, how do we get replacement GM coils?

Thanks.

2) The GM coils are no longer being produced by Delphi so Black Halo Racing will soon have them manufactured for us, exclusively.
3) Obtaining replacement coils will not be a concern because they will probably outlast your car and, in the event of failure, BHR's warranty policy is so good it cannot be discussed.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'd suggest putting this info into the BHR product page since it's very useful and it's the place that most people (like me) will see.

I'll order your coils shortly.
