it should be fine as long as the filter doesn't get too soaked.
the AEM also has a water 'sock' that you can put over the cone for rainy weather.

no problem.
I know some people have had some issues but overall I think you should be fine. Of course, if you go through a puddle big enough to submerge that filter, all bets are off.
Try asking in the regional subforum just to be safe but I think you'll be okay. We don't get much rain in SoCal so I've never had a problem with it.

Im in your same position. Except Canada has winter which is another thing to consider. If the filter does get soaked it will freeze up. I asked people around and they said it is a common problem with this CAI.
I really wanted the AEM cause of its looks and sounds but i think im going to go with the Racing Beat intake. Doesnt look as good but at least i wont have to worry about ******* up my engine and CELs popping up. I hope its louder than stock intake at least.

I lived in florida before and its been raining all month here in SF no problems of course you dont want water ;evel to come up the the filter but that would be rare...
I assume you will but it really isn't all that hard to take the bumper off takes 15 mins or so I thought the same thing but when installing I realized its a lot easier than it looks. the racing beat is good too I am a fan of racing beat good honest people with good quality products just like AEM.

Zero problems with water and puddles, as long as they're not THAT deep (1ft?). If you were to drive through one of those puddles the problem wouldn't be the filter anyway, i'd blame it on your brain
Chaning the filter requires to remove the bumper or at least the undertray. 15 minutes work if you have a lift.

Look at my location!
There are a few of us in this area!
What color is your car?
In terms of the AEM.........all I can say is this.
1.) I know a lot of people on this site really like it.
2.) But, I know it's also somewhat prone to water issues.
I'll see if I can link a thread talking about it.

I don't think there is any real advantage of the RB Revi over the AEM or vice-versa.
I think the AEM will be okay, but you have to realize how low it sits up front and with the amount of rain we get here in the Summer months, you will have to be very cautious. If your car isn't garage kept, I would for sure get the sock.
As you are well aware..........most Summers we will get a gully-washer every single afternoon for 3-4 months straight and our humidity is way, way higher than most people could ever imagine.
I respect certain peoples opinions in this thread, but you can do some searches on this site and see that there actually have been some water issues.
Don't take my word for it, go take a look. All I'm saying is we are more prone than other areas. We constantly have standing water of that depth.
That's my two cents, take it or leave it.
