Exclamation Wong Brake Pads???

Hi,

Just wanted to know if anyone could help me out on this!!

I have a 2004 Mazda RX-8. 2 Months ago it was serviced and they replaced the brake pads. They put in Bendix DB 1513 pads in the front. Ever since then the front wheels have been squeeling so loudly and the pads seem to be braking unevenly as the disc is shiny in some spots and not in the other! They also look like they arent sitting comfortably

I took it back two weeks later and they said that they machined lipped it and went over everything and couldnt find a problem. That worked for a week and now back to the same problem. They only seem to squeel really loud at speeds under 10km/hour!! The pads have plenty of thickness left.

My mate said that they should have stuck in DB 1723 according to a Bendix brake guide book he has but the website says DB 1513!

Which is right and how do I rectify this problem!!

Thanks

I was just typing out your typo in the subject.

I have absolutely no experience with "Bendix" brakepads. Not sure how freight is, but Charles R. Hill will set you up with some good Hawk brake pads.

When it comes to break pads, and changing companies, the compound changes. This will set different materials on the rotors, causing uneven wear, and strange streaky patterns on the rotor. There's a few good threads here on how to properly bed in a brake pad, but I'm no expert.

Yep! What Jason said.

And why are you too lazy to look it up on line at Bendix or other sites?

Or even in the book at the Autoparts store.

Razz1 your an awesome help!! You dont think I havent alrady rang Bendix and been on there website! They couldnt give me a straight answer! There website said from Jul 03 BD 1513 but in there 2008 Guide book it said DB 1723 for a 2004 year! It was just contradicting each other
